Werewolf 'Trading' an Issue?

Would it be a good idea to either increase the chances of transforming from a 'wild' werewolf bite or even implement a quest of some sorts to become one? I ask this question because there are so many scammers out there, you can't (obviously) transfer your werewolfiness between characters and sometime free bites can cause people to get creepy (from experience).

I just want to know what people think

Vampire/Werewolf bites are coming to the crown shop. So, don't expect something like you suggested.

Oh really? I didn't know that. Still would have been nice to have an easier 'free' option.

Also, I didn't expect anything. I wanted to know what people thought. Hence why it was phrased as a question and not a statement

    O_O

Joking aside, bites are pretty easy to obtain, at least on PC. Consoles still might have the issue where players are still scamming, but that's become a rarity on PC. In part because of actual bans handed down over the practice. Players getting creepy... I can't really help you with that.

The trick with wild bites is to know what days the rare bloodfiends and werewolves will spawn. Find one, and get mauled by it. They spawn after midnight, so you can track their current time by using the position of the moons against your compass. Once Masser is due north, it's midnight and they should spawn, if they'll spawn that night at all.

You can look up the spawning locations, but all of those locations are in one of three zones. The Rift, Bangkorai, and Reaper's March. If you're having trouble with players poaching off the vampires and werewolves, and you're on a vet, go to the silver version you have access to. There should be almost no one there.

Also, bloodfiends and werewolves in other zones cannot infect you. It's not like there's some random chance. The chance of infection from fighting rare spawn is very high. If you're looking at a bloodfiend in Grahtwood or Rivenspire, you cannot be infected by them. There is no possibility. Also, werewolves and vampires that spawn normally in one of those zones can't infect you. So the werewolves up behind the town in Bangkorai will never infect you with anything.

Oooooh!!! That's really helpful! I don't think there's a solution to scammers tbh. Idiots exist everywhere. But that's really useful information @starkerealm, thank you.

I give out free Vamp and Werewolf bites - what do you mean by creepy??

I give free WW bites. Will do the same for vampire once I level her up high enough.

Console NPC bites are impossible due to camper/ scammers. There are some great folk out there that do free bites, however.

    Baseball bats work well.

Never had a stalker since my brand of "no" was applied.

Haha  This is why I'm happy with the bites coming to the Crown Store. Providing they're reasonably priced, of course

Whenever someone asks me for a bite, whether werewolf or vampire, I always make it as creepy as possible. I'm honestly surprised I haven't been reported for such actions yet.

I got a free bite today, a very friendly player just offered one, I whispered to enquire, and that was all it took, met at the shrine in The Rift, done. I'll bite people for free once I've levelled up :)

The player wasn't creepy either. Just said good luck, and I was just about to see if I could just donate something to say thanks, and he logged off before I could.

That's only because the /lick emote returns an error, so no one knows what you tried to do.

One thing you can do is go to zone 5 in Silver or Gold if you have access and find the spawns there. I'm quite sure there will be fewer (if any) campers there.

Another reason why displaying gamertags is a bad idea in a game like this.

If I'm a werewolf can I devour a player to give them the disease without having the passive that allows me to bite other players? I really don't want to waste the skill point but would like to pass out free bites.

Nope. You need to spend that skill point.

It's ok. I spent a month running around The Rift and Bangkorai to find a ww to bite my Templar. Kept running into Bloodfiends all the time.

They realize that people are overpaying in game gold for bites so they want to see if people will overpay in real gold. ;)
