He is trying to craft some armor and is early in the game and didn't know that palladium is common later in the game.

Allyhoo811✭✭✭I'm on PC so I can't help, but just a suggestion for your friend: I wouldn't waste palladium on low level armor (i.e. anything below Veteran Rank). You do not keep it long enough for it to be worth using "rare-ish" materials on. Same goes for any of the purple motif styles.0
