Hey Zenimax,

I'm liking the game, but inventory management is very cumbersome in this game. In Skyrim, things like potions and flowers weighed only like 0.1 of 300, so you could go around picking all the potions and provisioning materials you wanted.

However, in ESO, a potion or a flower counts as 1/60. It forces me to constantly keep going back to the city to either drop all my crafting/provisioning mats at the bank or use the materials immediately.

It seems like I get a full inventory like 30 minutes into exploring/questing, and I have to go right back. It's like every plant is a burdensome as the dragon bones in Skyrim, and we all know how annoying it was to manage those damn bones and scales.

I have a TES inspired solution to that issue here:
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/162693/more-bags-and-encumbrance-concepts/p1

    Hopefully Zenimax hears us.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Storage Mule ALTs ... I got 4 of them (The other 4 characters are actively played).

Max out your backpack(s), bank slots and horse bags, use storage mules for stuff you want to keep but don't need to have in your immediate inventory.

With 8 chars maxed, you get a stupendous amount of bag slots ...

The majority of things you loot from enemies are weapons/armor to deconstruct. Those would take up a lot of space. Lots of items like crafting mats also stack to 200. Skyrim inventory management (and past Elder Scrolls games) is just too different. It would be cool if it worked that way, but I'm not sure it could work... especially without player housing.

Mule alts is not an acceptable "fix" for the issue. We need an actual mechanic.

It sucks that I can only carry a few hundred flowers... but it's awesome that I can carry a few hundred ingots of metal.

I don't see a problem. Expand your inventory and bank.

You do know that you can purchase additional bag space, right? You can currently have up to 110 bag slots, and an additional 60 slots from your mount, for a total of 170 bag space. With the Imperial City update, this is being increased to 200.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell every player that has inventory issues. You aren't going to be able to afford every single available bank and bag slot right off the bat. It takes time and you are going to have to earn the gold to unlock them like everyone else. Secondly, you don't have to collect and hoard every little item you find.

I have master crafters of every type, and I have materials of every type, and I still have plenty of bank and bag space. You can currently have up to 1,600 total inventory slots per account. Imperial City will raise this to 1,840 slots. Is it cheap? No. But it can be attained.
Can't find the items you are looking for? Need a place to trade? We welcome ESO players of all platforms at ESO Trade, the home for trading of goods and services in the lands of Tamriel.

Starting out it was a problem but it gave me a goal. I had to earn money to be able to buy pack upgrades and bank upgrades. Storing your crafting material in the bank is a must. I make frequent trips to the banks and there are plenty of them. Just work bank visits into your daily routine.

I do recommend buying a horse. The additional storage space is valuable. It's a little slow in upgrading but you can spend crowns to speed up the process. Earn one capacity slot per day or buy 10 at a time for 1,000 crowns.

Once you start getting larger bags from the bag vendor and throwing your cash at the bank, and training your mount up to become a heavy goods vehicle. You will forget all the problems you once had with storage.
This post will not take you an unusually long time to read.

Also if you have someone you 100% trust not to take your stuff, bounce mails. My husband and I play for hours on end just mailing our junk back and forth. Not a solution, but works in a pinch.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

It gets better the farther you progress in the game. You'll buy your bag and bank slots. I'm up to 110 bag slots right now (VR1) and am having little trouble managing my resources. I'm also invested in smithing, woodworking and clothing. In the early levels you just have to remember to head back to town every so often to decon gear/store your mats.

In addition, I like the way this system is set up...not using weight, but space slots. You can stack everything. I can understand with alchemy and provisioning having many different ingredients, but that's why alts are there. You don't have to craft everything on one toon. I'm planning on rolling an alt for enchanting and provisioning.

On the other hand, a curious takes 1 slot, not 35 carry weight. 200 Ingots take up 1 slot, not 200 carry weight. At base, you could have 12000 Ingots on you. Good luck getting that in skyrim

Additionally, be careful or we will have to play tetris with our inventory. They are adding player inventory room with the IC update.
Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

I realize and accept that it takes time to earn enough gold to buy additional inventory capacity, however I am with the OP on this one. I find it quite frustrating that I can only explore for short periods of time because I run out of inventory slots so quickly. I currently have 80 slots + 5 from my mount, and have expanded my bank capacity as well, and I created 2 alts last night to hold resources. Sure, using alts is a workaround, but it's highly inconvenient to have to shuffle characters in order to move items around for whatever current purpose you are pursing. I am not grinding for gold, as I want to just play and enjoy the game, so at my current rate of gold income, I could probably buy another capacity upgrade in a week or so...
