CPs are still in the game?

I was thinking to come back for the new big update, I play mostly PvP and I was wonering if CPs are still a thing; I didn't play for 3 months, if CPs are the same of when released it will be impossible to compete with anyone who player in this last period.

Did they nerf/remove CPs?

CP is still here, same as it was. I heard they plan to make CP much easier to get if you are catching up, and they plan to put a seasonal cap on it. Its coming in Update 7 or 8.

Nope. Thats the reason im loosing my interest fast too, since i did mainly pvp. But because i had a long break im sitting on 1 vr 11 and 2 vr 1 with glorious 98 cps while some of my guildmates crossed the 600 number.

CP's dont seem to be going anywhere anytime soon... I give it another 6-9 months before they make an attempt at re-balancing anything.

The power curve is getting larger every week. its quite sad really... I really enjoyed this game and had high hopes but I think eso is on its death bed...

I did like 130 CPs if I remember correct in the first month then stopped playing, I suppose people have 500+ cps now, how it will be possible to beat them :/

If you managed to get that many in one month (I'm assuming you mean 60 on top of the 70 you started with), you should be fine.

in a group it is really not that noticeable. Occasionally you find a player who can 1v10 comfortably but changes coming in next patch will change it around. No doubt there will be a new OP build.

It is really not so horrendous and playing the game will get you those CPs. After 300 its less impact and after 600 theres far less gain. Do not be scared of the 3600 number.

you will hold your own with 300+ and you can get that comfortably in 3-4months by playing the game..

Noobs always die, non-CP campaigns won't help them. Also, power curve drops drastically after the first 300-360CP which was proven many times already. Most people that consider themselves as "playing this game" should already have that much anyway.

Non-CP campaigns is ZOS' reaction to Whine Brotherhood (TM) - a thing that should never happen.

Well honestly what noob means? someone who just entered pvp for the first time? Because there is really not that much to it really. Few hours of gameplay and few more spend in forums choosing your build and thats it. Furhtermore 1000 cps is hella of power and i dare to say it annihilates much of the difference in skills.

What exactly is a noob with 1000cps? If someone just bought someone else's account that had 1000 CPs, yeah he doesn't know how to play the game yet. For everyone else, yes 1000 CPs makes way better than any 0 CP players. Way better as in being able to whipe out 10 lower dudes

People always get too worked up about the CP gap.

Yes, 0 cp vs. 1000 cp is a huge gap in effect. But... 300 cp vs. 1300 cp is a much, Much, MUCH smaller gap.

So maybe he will kill you in 4.2 blows while you need 4.8 blows to take him down - doesn't matter, whoever first gets in that fifth blow will win.

That's the reality of the diminishing returns at higher cp values. At some point the gap becomes too small to make that much of a difference, and skill will tell.

And it has been mentioned before, sooner or later the gap will become large enough that the PTB will add catchup mechanics. There are several possibilities...
...increased daily enlightment for low cp players? Like... below 100 cp: gain 4 cp worth of enlightment per day; 101-200 cp: gain three; 201-400 cp: gain two; 401+: no extra gain.
...or flat decreased cp cost, like... below 100 cp: gain 1 cp per 100K expees; 101-200 cp: 1cp per 200K XP; 201-400: 1 cp per 300K XP; 401+: as usual, enlightment still counts ×4.
...or a "unlimited enlightment week" for players below "×××" cp, with the value depending on current season?
...or even cp giveouts - first mainstory playthrough on account: gain 50 cp, first silver playthrough, gain 50 cp, first gold playthrough, gain another 50 cp...
One or more of those, in any combinations, or something similar... eventually I expect we'll get some sort of catchup.

And they have been mentioning the seasonal caps... I expect it will turn to be a cap on CP you can spend, raised with every expansion... it will likely vex the grinders who grabbed tons of cp using some borderline exploit-abusing behavoir, but fu... uhm... forget them! And not like a cap on spending will mean they loose anything, they just can't use it until the game cap catches up to their presumably-ill-gotten gains ;)...

My feeling as well, sadly. I haven't played in over a month out of disgust/disinterest in ZOS apparently caring more about catering to Korean grind mindset/exploiters/botters than actual TES fans and loyal customers.

The un-capped CP implementation with Pay-to-Win scrolls was the nail in the ESO coffin for me.

Non-CP campaigns ultimately solve nothing. You still face the "500+ CP or GTFO" mindset of Undaunted spam (in the absense of a working dungeon finder).

Rewarding people with no life and nothing but time to bot/grind 24/7 over skill.

No CP campaigns will be dead because no one will want to lose the additiona resources etc you get from CP. Doesn't matter if you have 70 or 500, if it's as big a deal as everyone seems to think it is you aren't going to want to lose that bonus...

Will be good for duelling though.

The horse is dead. No point beating it. All I can say is if you really believe that 20+% boost to all offense, defense, and resource efficiency makes no difference in a PVP encounter, why do you imagine people are spending real money having Chinese farmers bot farm CP for them?

Honestly, Cyrodil has a bigger problem with exploiters than it does with the CP gap. Before CP, people complained about the gap between the VR1 and the VR14. The VR14s were unkillable, overpowered, and a god mode. The gear gap is still huge and, honestly, a much bigger problem toward fairness than CP. Really, though, it's the exploiters and the cheaters that are killing PvP, and it is always something. Like the fomer Emperor I encountered in the IC on the test server using the new weapon switch while in Mist Form bug to make themselves invisible. Thankfully, that one probably won't make it to live.

People were using the talons + batswarm with the mistform exploit to 1v10/1vZergs back at launch.

I wonder how do you know they had 700 cp. And "someone" said many things i prefer facts. Even the very devouted defender of the system Attorneyatlawl was saying that the difference is much smaller after 1000 cp.

This game is all about grinding, whether you like it or not. There simply aren't enough quests to get you to VR14 (soon to be VR16), you're going to have to grind a bit to get there. You want to max out Champion Points? You're going to have to grind them, either with daily quests and dungeons, groups of mobs, or log a lower rank veteran alt and do quests. Either way, you're grinding. Want the Undaunted monster sets? Get to grinding veteran dungeons then because that's the only way you will ever get them.

If things didn't take a considerable amount of time in this game, then they would never make any profit from those who are wanting an easy route, hence XP scrolls, potions, tri-stat food, mounts, etc... being available in the crown store. I shudder to think what else is going to be added before long.
