Any safeguard against theft?

Hello! I'm a new player (started yesterday, level 6 Nightblade right now) and I'm really enjoying ESO so far. One of the aspects of the game I enjoy is the option to safeguard against accidentally attacking NPC's and getting yourself a bounty.

Is there any available option to also safeguard against accidental theft? I see many people accidentally pick items up that are stolen, only to be slaughtered by various NPC's soon after, and I don't want to have to deal with a bounty on my head, I'm a good boy!

The best safeguard is to look before you click. Your worst enemy is Safeboxes that spawn on you suddenly.

The issue with accidently stealing an item isn't regarding those in containers but those out in the open like drinks and stuff.

^ You can also turn off attacking innocents
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Doesn't really help in this instance. Been there myself.

I have played with all the justice stuff enabled since it went live. In all that time, I mistakenly snatched something -once-. Just once. And I do play a lot of ESO...
