Pyrocyborg✭✭If it was a champion point, You would have seen "Gained champion point: Warrior, thief or mage" or something like that with a red, green or Blue icon. You would also have Access to the champion points tab, if you dont already.
I seriously doubt they would add something like That without telling it first, so I'll take a guess and say you misread.

What got me was it said it before the level increased and the skill point gain that came after. Cuz it said that first message, then the level gain, then i know it said i gained a point "again"
Maybe you dinged a new level from completing a quest that awards a skillpoint by itself(as a quest reward). That way you receive two skillpoints at once. First the one from the quest, then you ding, then you receive another skillpoint for leveling up.

Don't worry, I missed the moment I got my first Perfect Roe from fileting fish by not noticing what is going on with the screen.
