Templar and nightblade as the stamina dps

Sirbu3ll3r
So I have a v4 nightblade stamina dps but I'm also leveling a healing templar. I've read some things that have mentioned that templars are one of the best stam dps. Am I understanding that correctly?
If so I may respec my templar.
I prefer a dps role but was making my healer because there seems to be a lack of them.

P.s am I the only one having difficulty getting into a dungeon group as a nb?

As I understand it, stamina Templars are better for PVE and stamina nightblades are better in PVP. I believe stamina nightblade is going to take quite a hit in patch 2.1, making them pretty challenging to play successfully. Magicka Nightblade sounds like it will become the new FOTM. Stamina Templar will also probably take a hit in 2.1, so I couldn't tell you which will be better for PVP in the post 2.1 world. For PVE, stamina Templar is the better class to play as it has good single target damage as well as good AOE damage. Stamina nightblade had great single target damage, but lacks good AOE.

I personally don't have an issue taking either class into dungeons with me. Both serve a purpose. A Templar is good at both types of DPS while a Nightblade is better for taking out high priority targets and bosses. If I grouped up with a stamina nightblade who chose to take out a tanky monster instead of the mage or healer, then I might kick him/her. And on the flip side, if the stamina Templar tried to heal or only attack single targets when AOE is more appropriate, I might kick him/her.

It's getting into groups in the first place I'm having trouble with.
It's annoying to hear that stam nb is going to take a hit as I've invested time in it. I'm guessing that's with the roll dodge nerf?

Is has nothing to do with your class, it's about roles.

Like in most MMO's, if you cant do anything but dps, getting into 4-man groups is terribly slow. Way slower if you aren't willing to take some initiative and make the group yourself.

My stamina templar has amazing dps, but still had to re-specc heal/tank briefly to get my Undaunted passives up to 9 in reasonable time.

Try typing "LF1M dd" in zone...you will get 8-12 replies on average. Than sit around and wait half an hour for a tank.

Also about the "hit" on stamina NB's in 2.1. These are changes to main mechanics and features that affects all classes in PvP. Everyone is with a similar build, is getting nerfed or fixed in a similar way, regardless of what class they're playing. For sure, some main changes are more noticeable for certain classes. But again, it's PvP related and stamblades will still be in better shape than most when IC launches.

The stamblade exclusive nerf is loosing 15% stamina from passives. That's not a hard hit. I dont think your dps will suffer to much in PvE, since you shouldn't have much sustain problems to begin with. NB stamina based class skills will also get a cost decrease in 2.1.

    I see. Makes sense.
I don't mind any role to be honest think I'll stick to healer as my templar as I prefer my nb for dps as it suits my play style. I'm still relatively new to eso so learning as I go.

I have heard that the dodge roll won't be as spammable after the first dodge. If so I can see why they've chosen to do that.
To be fair I never really had an issue with running out of stam so I don't think the impact will be too hard.

Are magica builds taking an equivalent hit? Just out of interest.
