Just getting a feel for the value or price of the following:

1. x5 Light armor pieces of the Willow's Path, Veteran Level 2, all pieces Purple, with infused trait on all

2. x2 Restoration staves, Armor of the Seducer set, Veteran level 2, charged trait on both, both purple

If someone were to order both, with all materials supplied by the maker/vendor, what kind of gold are we talking about? (Willow's Path requires 6 learned traits.) What kind of gold would you be willing to pay for this order?

I've charged around 3K for similar sets. Maybe I work cheap, I don't know.

You must farm a lot of materials to get your tempers at 0 cost. Typically with today's prices selling 1 purple item at 1000g you could be losing money....and no way you could sell heavy armor/weapons for that. The Grain Solvent for just 1 runs on average 650g +

I misread the original post, my bad. In those cases the customer supplied the mats, including the tempers. In that case yeah, to level it to purple, easy 20K+

No worries. Typically mine run 3-4k per item depending on armor type/trait/style. So a 9 piece set can run up to 36k if all heavy armor. Any price you can get for items around 3k each is really good.

I am getting a quote of 35,000 gold. I am Vet 1, gonna be Vet 2 in a few days.

I do Blacksmithing (should have done clothing, but too late now.) Based on how long it takes me to farm for the blue and purple random drops at my Veteran 1 level, and how often the hirelings bring such materials, 35k seems fairly reasonable. I was trying to get a ballpark from others.

It seems to be taking me less time to earn the 35k than to farm for blue and purple clothing item random drops to deconstruct (which may not get the temper as my clothing is only level 25 or so). This vendor has all the materials, ready to go for my order.

For those that are master clothing makers, how many green, blue, and purple items does it take to turn one light armor piece purple?

2 green, 3 blue, 4 purple per item. Then 8 gold. Yeah, 8.

    2 green, 3 blue, 4 purple.

Though with the easy clothing mat farm clothing mats are abundant at the moment.

Thanks guys. Wow. Now I see why the purps are so dang expensive.

I spent all my passive skill points in Blacksmithing but have not used any of my blue or purple tempers. I assumed it required 2 of each color to upgrade to the next level. Now I know, to be better prepared.

@Methadone_Man, just go with Blue armor. My wife and I used Blue armor until we hit level V10. If you change it out every 2-3 levels and keep it repaired it works just fine. IMO you don't need purple armor until much higher in the Vet levels. This will allow you to increase both your gold and temper supplies. A full set of Blue armor would be about 1/3 the cost of the purple set. Use it from V1-V6, then get a new set, then V6-V10, Then V10-V14. Then grab a purple set and hang on to it for a while. If you went purple at V1, you would be replacing it by V8 again and if you went purple again, you'd be 70k into armor costs for 2 full sets of purple armor. With blues your only at 30K ish for 3 sets, not 2.

Yeah, I guess the question is: do I really need purple on all items for Vet level 1 or 2 range character? I guess that's overkill. I'd be better off spending that differential money on some green or blue enchantments for said armor. And the rest on some Bosmer strippers. Besides, I need a 22k bank upgrade to hold all these provisioning materials.

Also, i am missing quite a bit of skyshards from the lower level areas of Aldmeri Dominion. Those can be skill points placed into the passives of my Templar, Resto staff, and light Amor skill lines, which can also make my character more effective. And those don't cost any gold.

Just as a side note, you probably don't want Infused on all pieces. Infused is really only worth it on the "big" pieces: head, body, and legs. You get very little gain from Infused on the "small" pieces (shoulders, hands, feet, waist), so you're better off using Divines on those.

Right. That's a much better use of your gold. If you get any items in purple at lower levels, only get them in the weapons you use for more damage.

I'm a VR4 who replaces armor every level. If you do anything more than blue armor you're going to be really short on cash or materials. Blue armor and purple weapons are a good middle ground.
