Seen a few sorc use fire staff and a few use light staff, i know you can't medium weave with a light staff so why do people use them?

Which do people think is better for a soc to use

Pvp of course, in pve i'll definitely use a fire/

By light staff i assume you mean a restoration staff? Many peeps use them because you can heal and put up shields.

It's called a restoration staff, and it's primary purpose is healing, not damage.

By light staff i mean't lightning, i wouldn't compare a destructive staff and a restoration

PVP lightning, mainly heavy attack cant be reflected, which is really really useful. fire staff can be stopped by reflect

Pretty sure you get more weapon procs using lightning and resto just due to the nature of their heavy attacks.

By light attack weaving with it? you can do that with fire staff though :open_mouth:

I'm just suggesting a reason why people use them, as you asked.

That and to still be doing some DPS while restoring resources.

Hmm i'm still not sure, apart from not being reflected i'm pretty sure fire staff do more dmg anyway.

I personaly enjoy to switch staves depending the situation, due to the use of Destructive Reach. For Aoe damage, I prefer lightning. For solo I prefer fire for the knock back, but I think in Dungeons and PvP I may use the ice staff for better control. The knockback of the firestaff is annoying for tanks

hmm can't say i've ever seen someone use a ice staff in pvp, i'll just try them both i guess, ill see if i'm more effective just light weaving because my frags will proc more.

Though i don't use reach in my build because frags does the same thing.

hmm can't say i've ever seen someone use a ice staff in pvp,.

I've been doing that this afternoon in PvP (AD) and I love the look of the "ice wall" when you do it with frost.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
