I am on xbox one and trying to figure out how to use my weapon quick slots(right on d-pad). I can't figure out how to assign a weapon/shield etc... to them.

It's in the inventory, place a weapon on the main back up slot and it will be there. You have to be at least level 15 and don't forget that you will have a new skill bar to go with weapon.1
