So I just started the above character, I'm lvl 20 and focusing one bar on resto and the other on destruction so by the time I get to endgame I can decide whether I want to focus on DPS or Heal.

At the moment all my AP are in Magikka and SP spread evenly for levelling.

I'm wearing 1 heavy and the rest light armor, again for levelling. I've been thinking of primarily focusing on being a healer with resto staff and light armor and all AP in Magikka l. Will I be too squishy, especially in pvp?

Magicka can help alot but doesnt matter at some point HP will take over or you'll be getting 1 shot everywhere. I suggest a 2/3 magicka to hp ratio. VR1+ youre going to want around 14k hp 20k magicka 1200 magicka regen at the least.You can use Harness Magicka and rune focus to help you cover the squishy gap. Harness should bounce you up close to 22-24k vs spells. Rune focus will help with physical damage and magicka regen. Use Eclipse in pvp on casters to give you breathing room to heal and recast harness before the next hit.

Max Magicka does bump up your spells but you'll be doing nothing if youre dead. and a Sorc in pvp or a boss/mini boss in pve can 1shot 17-18k

Also for resto staff you can level up with it but in the end you wont use any skills on it as templar but healing springs. MAYBE backlash when it gets fixed. Restoring Light skills will outdo resto staff. ( I Honestly just use it for magicka regen on heavy hits. Healing springs when i need to hit more targets then BOL can)

and honestly healing ward will be complete garbage for a templar till they pull their heads from the butt and make it a 3-4 man aoe ward.
