Once you have Psijic Ambrosia known, does the fragments stop dropping?

I am curious if, once you obtain, and learn the Psijic Ambrosia recipe, the fragments stop being given from Writ completions.

I got the complete set about 2 weeks ago, and subsequently learned it. I have been doing writs on 8 toons, 4 which are rewarded with the Provisioning 6 reward (others are sub VR so they get the Provisioning 4), and have not seen a single fragment since I got the completed recipe.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal? or am I just VERY unlucky :)

No, you keep getting them. I have almost got a second set. It seems that only level 6 writs have decent drop rate, somewhere at 5..10 percent. Your four top providers should get one every, say, three days. Because RNG is jumpy, it is very common to have two-three times longer dry spells, so over a week without drops is common.

Thanks for the info. I thought it strange, but good to know that someone can prove my theory false :) I'll keep persevering with the writs then.

I have 3 level 50 provisioners that have done the writs every day since the fragments started dropping and I have gotten one single fragment.

    One.

yeh it's taking awhile but there is hope. I've had 5 provisioners doing it every day and got zilch until the last week and a half. I now have 6/7 and no duplicates so just one piece to go.
Hang in there, RNG sucks but it'll come around.

I know, I say to myself, Self, RNG don't play games. But I'm about to get superstitious. What really catches my attention is when I get exactly the same ingredients and recipe in two straight chests. That really doesn't seem right.

I dream of getting my first!

And to answer the question do they stop... dunno, they haven't started yet.

You might want to try my trick of sacrifying little guars to Boethiah before sunrise. :naughty: . I think only tier 6 writs - those ones that return to Belkarth - are worth to do.

On a second thought, don't do the writs. Don't get the recipe! You would only degenerate to my state of endless fishing. I hate it. Stahp...

Same here, 8 toons at provisioning 50 with everything maxed and just one fragment since they added the Ambrosia.

Thankfully i belong to several larger guilds with guild mates who are willing to make Ambrosia for free.

But still, RNG really does hate me ...

I hope some DEV looks at this and says....."hey maybe we need to change how we hand these things out cause some people are not getting any at all while others or working on their 3rd and 4th complete set of the d@&n things!" I know wishful thinking but let me dream d@*$%t. It wasn't bad enough they made the drop rate for nirncrux F%^&$@G ridiculously low, nooooooo now they had to go and add "pieces" of a recipe that NEVER drop for some. I have got food coming out my ears and nothing to show for it! I am so tired of provisioning writs I want to scream. Come on Zeni! Cut us a break for crying out loud!

Ouch, i forgot that toons may be below vr levels. Sorry about that. I can't answer because my six provisioners are all veteran level, skill level 50 and with all skill points. I never did writs with non-veteran toon.

My conclusion to recommend only the highest tier comes from the fragment drop rate thread, I recommend to browse through it. That is all we collectively know about fragment drops.

I have been doing these writs on 4 max level toons since it was released and have yet to still get a fragment piece. It is really really getting old.

Or maybe that's just the nature of random events.

I keep getting fragment 3. I am up to 6 total fragments, with 4 being #3. I'll do some trading once I get one more.

I suppose they could do something where they lower the start drop rate, but increase drop rates each time you don't get one. That way you could potentially end up with the same drop rate overall, but there would be a more even distribution.

That seems a bit complicated though.

I would hope that they would look at it before implementing a similar mechanism for something like glass motif fragments...

As it stands it isn't just a grind, it's a competition against the RNG gods, where there's nothing you can do to better your chances.

(I know, top level provisioning writs are more likely to drop fragments, but I only do top level writs and I still haven't seen a fragment)
