This is my first post, so bare with me!
Customized Gear
While I have been playing sense beta, I've had a few ideas about what would be a good supplement for crafting. The idea I'm proposing would allow for players to stand out more. As it stands, the only way to stand out is to dye your gear a unusual color, usually some obnoxious like ALL PINK SLKDJHASKJDHKLAJHDNS. Another way is to combine gear from other styles, which works for the most part till you have to dye it and the colors don't match all that well.
But enough lollygagging, let's get to the actual idea.
1.
Changeable Styles
What I mean is the possibility of adding variations or changing the current style of gear in some ways. For example, being able to change the location of the antlers on Bosmer gear to different areas in order to achieve a different look. Another example would be to allow players to put moons on the Khajiit shoulder pads or to place them on gauntlets.
Another aspect to this is to make it so you would have to go out into the world and find reference to the gear variations or to add more motifs with these styles.
2.
The Use of Older Styles
When I was equipping my character with fancy gear from my crafter, I noticed that some of the styles from low level gear actually look rather dapper. Unfortunately I was not able to keep this look as I had to level up. So what I propose is the idea of making it so that when you craft a piece of gear, you can choose what style variant you like. For example, I would looooooooooooooooooooooooooooove to be able to use the iron variant of the Imperial heavy and would be able to choose it from the crafting station.
I possibly was trying to make a point, idk :P
3.
The Ability To Learn Unique Styles
While traveling through the world, I have come across a few rather lovely sets of gear, the only issue is that the stats were really low and could not use them in fear of being mauled to death by a skeever. So what I propose is the ability for players to learn the style of gear they find from the world via deconstructing. Another aspect to this would be that a person would have to deconstruct many sets of the gear set in question in order to learn it. To craft it, you would have to use the gem nearest to the set in question. For example, using the Brenton gem for the Necromancer gear. This could also be done through the research section as well.
4.
Add Collectibles to Armor
Ever wish you could use those lovely gems from scamps or that wondrous bad pelt? I would too! So why not have it an option to change the texture of gear with the pelts you find or be able to add your collectible to your gear. This would really add some depth to crafting as you would be more inclined to go out into the world and find as many as possible. Imagine being able to add a deadric heart to your staff head or shoulder piece. I'm getting all giddy thinking of it!
5.
Runes
While everyone has their lovely enchants are their weapons to dazzel the enemies with flash and awe, your armor seems to lack that even though it is enchanted as well. A simple addition that would be rather interesting would be the ability to display your enchants in the form of runes on your gear (with symbols or something like that) or with some etching on your gear that make it appear bursting with power!
I'll be sure to add more as time goes on, butt this is good for now! Tell what you think and tell me any ideas you have as well down below!
Tatah!
