Clothing help

I am just getting into clothing crafting and I am interested if there is some sort of strategy or general advice anyone can give regarding clothing and the best/quickest way to level up the skill and make the best equipment with the best materials.
My goal is to make all of my equipment rather than pick it up or buy it.
Thanks everyone

You can level the skill by researching, deconstructing and refining materials. All of those are important for creating quality gear - researching so that you can create clothing with traits, de-conning and refining to give you mats including style gems and improvement materials.

I've been leveling clothing and woodworking all along, but just recently started blacksmithing, and I find this is working for me.

I am also trying to max these out, and am in the mid-upper 40's for blacksmith and clothing. Around 40 in woodwork. I decon almost everything that gets dropped, unless I can research it or it is high value (100+ gold I sell). I have found that going to market areas and stealing tons of items and deconstructing them actually seems to give decent inspiration, so sometimes I do that. Crafting writs give good inspiration also.

I do this kinda, everyday i steal tons of junk from the stores in Vukhel Guard and launder them then decon everything, this helps obviously level up Legerdemaine too

Not already mentioned, you get more inspiration (crafting xp) by deconstructing other character made items.
Note this includes your own other characters. Better quality items give better xp.

You will occasionally find advertisement in zone looking for crafting xp partner to swap items with.

Does laundering them first provide more inspiration on deconstruction as opposed to deconstructing the stolen item?

No, but you get extra exp for laundering them. I just do it because you know.. why not.. (well apart from the fact you have to spend money) After you have maxed out the amount of things you can "clean" a day you can then just continue afterward stealing more stuff.
