I equip 5/1/1 LMH to gain skill points in all armour types. My question is, dose it matter wear I equip my H and M amour? Should I wear heavy amour in my chest slot and medium on my legs because they provide the most armour?
Heavy Chest, Medium Legs. I put my Torug's Pact here with nirnhoned on each. Best armor and spell resist for the buck. Looks cool with Daedric Motif as well.
I was looking into this the other day while planning my late game crafted set. I could only use outdated numbers, but I assume the core ideas stayed the same through any changes they've made. The idea is that Chest gives the most armor, followed by boots/helm/pants/shoulders, and then gloves, and finally waist.
The armor values at end game look something like this:
That said, it's probably best to go Heavy chest, medium (boots OR helm OR pants OR shoulder) and the rest light. That way you maximize the amount of armor you get out of your off-light pieces.
One more thing to keep in mind is that many dropped set contain head pieces or belts (or staves and jewelry), so if you're crafting, you may want to leave those slots open for drops.
Okay thanks for the help! From what I read, it seems like the smartest thing is to go heavy chest then medium shoulders/head/boots or legs, and light for everything else.
