Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

This game needs an auction house for console versions.

PitchesBeTreble
It is ridiculously hard to walk into a city and ask to buy or sell something with everyone screaming, the second you ask you will usually be answered by someone screaming obscenities at you. There is no real economy as prices change constantly, the guild stores are irrelevant (items are overpriced on purpose to avoid guild tax) and tedious to travel to every one to try and buy what you're looking for. It can take hours to weeks to buy what you're looking for. I understand zenimax not wanting a trade forum because obviously they do nothing about scammers in game so why would they want to hear us complain about them on a forum. We need a real economy. I would even be willing to pay crowns for access to an auction house.

I suggest zoned auction houses they are zoned only so what's listed in riften only shows in riften. It will be better for everyone, no more having to go to every 5 guild traders in the city having to input your search each time. It's a win win for everyone.

This could be a good idea if it helps with possible server lag that would happen from a full auction house. Or maybe alliance locked auction houses. So each alliance can help forge their own economy. Say for example EP are more into blacksmithing and selling recipes, and AD are more into fishing and selling food. The prices will balance from supply and demand and overall I think it could work really well.

This term in itself is rude. I don't understand why people care if someone is younger than them. What bothers me the most is hearing everyone yell this term every time a kid or girl tries to speak.

Voice chat annoys me on consoles. I like it guilds and in groups but the area voice chat is obnoxious as hell. Little kids screaming, *** harassing girls, constant racist remarks. I wish they would add text chat so I could still communicate with people without all the other garbage

    Disagree.
Get out meet and talk to ppl or join guilds and use the traders.

    It's an open market

They need to either add an Auctuon house or text chat on console. Trading has become such a chore with no text chat and the guild trader system is horrendous.

There isnt that much to buy, and most importantly no reason to sell stuff when you get your first 1mill, theres nothing to spend it on. I think they should add some Outlaw's Den special service, if players needs some specific item, the service would search items from all guild auction houses and send you the coordinates but of course for a price, so thats the solution for lackers, lazy and impatience players.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

That would be just as bad as the guild store.

Imagine trying to buy or sell something and tons of people standing around a horse. People would pull mobs and noobs would have a hard time in the area.

Bottom line is they need an Auction House. The current system is just stupid.

No thanks. The system itself is fine. It just needs options to save settings or frequent search requests.

Both the PC and console versions need an effective trading system with a proper UI and search function, and which is open to all regardless of level, faction or other artificial barrier to participation such as guild membership. It doesn't need to be a form of auction house, and it could simply be a modified form of the present system, but it does need to meet those criteria which the present system falls way short on in all respects.

I would accept a regional auction house system, but I do not think this game needs a traditional auction house. Really IMO the best compromise would be instead of selling specific NPC's to the highest bidder, instead have 1 NPC in each town who is the main auctioneer. These auctioneers would only be in towns that have their own maps. So for instance in Reapers March there are three towns/cities.

Arenthia, Dune and Rawlakka. Whatever city that is expected to be the 'main' hub town of the zone would have more slots. So for instance Rawlakka would have 10 available slots for guilds to bid on. But they would all be funneled via the same NPC as opposed to 5-10 separate NPC's. The other cities would only have 5 slots available.

Doing this alone would likely drive more traffic to the other cities, because lets face it. You would only need to go to a max of 3 NPC's total in a zone to see all that the region has to offer vs 15+. This system right here is already more efficient than just searching the 4-6 NPC's in the main trading hubs.

Also, even though I am a member of several large trade guilds, I would say only allow 60% of the slots to be bidded upon. The other 40% would be a random lotto of guilds who sign up and within 24 hours the server picks from those guilds. That way the large guilds who have the money to bid can get their shots, but other guilds have a chance at a spot for the week as well. Maybe rotate it so that you can't win a lotto spot two weeks in a row.

I'm ok with the system as it is, it's just a little more difficult to sell every crap our inventories are full of. I sell to NPC's and keep the valuable items for guilds shop. I don't use voice chat to sell or buy anything (I don't use it at all even, but that's another matter) like I never used text chat to sell and buy anything in other MMOs too, so it's not a big deal for me...

It's like a mini-game to me, another treasure hunt: what will I find with this trader and at what price. x)

Anyway, I may not feel the need of an auction house but I'm not strongly against it either, if it's properly added. I just find the current system interesting and more "immersive" or realistic than a global auction house and it gives the guilds another purpose too, not just to down contents with mates.
