It'd be nice if they compensated us somehow but I doubt it will happen. Over the last 4 days all we've been told is they are working on it and even then the responses are pretty sparse. We haven't been given any sort of timeline or real response.

While I get that they don't want to say anything that could be incorrect and customer service can be touchy in situations like this, it would be a good move for them to give something like hourly updates (even if it's just "We are narrowing the problem down and are confident that it should be corrected soon") just to let us know that the problem is really being taken seriously. If they really wanted to step it up, they could offer something to those that have been affected...but given the amount of people that've been affected would severely limit the recompense.
