Is it possible to be successful with Bow/Resto Staff?

As a magicka/stam based NB or would it be better as a sorc?

I am having fun with my DK but really hate standard builds. Also if I wanted to try something like mentioned above what race would you choose?

Thanks!

This really depends on what you want to do. If you are mainly solo then you can run anyway you choose. If you are mainly pve, then you need to figure out how want to play i.e. dps, tank, healer...then magicka vs. stamina out of those 3 (except you can't be a stamina healer, as far as I know anyway). If you are good in your role people will see that and keep you in mind for other group activities. If you are mainly pvp, then you want straight up burst damage, ranged damage, and an escape plan (such as dark cloak or bolt escape). You will also want friends. Lots of friends.

I would say the best thing to do is to read up on the other classes and their abilities, pick one and figure out how you want to play it, then choose the race and weapons that best compliment that.

I forgot to add this link. This is how I roll with my Nightblade tank. The following is my opinion based on observation and recommendations by seasoned players I play with.

I can say that nightblades probably offer the most versatility. But mastering any role with a Nightblade is typically end game only and rough until then. Nightblades can melt mobs but usually only one at a time. Nightblade healer is easily the hardest role in that class and while it's possible it is well below ideal.

Most of the best healers you will ever find are Templars. They are well suited for dps also, but for some reason they are kind of lackluster as tanks. Your typical paladin build. I'm sure there are good templar tanks out there, and since i tank i haven't met any other tanks. But I play with quite a few people and no one has anything good to say about a templar tank.

Dragonknights have a good deal of survivability and are your cookie cutter tank class. They do okay on damage (from what a friend of mine says and he has raised all classes to VR's) but they aren't the best for damage. They also heal like complete sh-t.

Sorcerers are great for area attacks. Very well suited for damage and slightly less for healing, but can be very flexible between doing extra damage and healing or providing extra healing while killing.

Well that's all I got. Hope it helps
