Assault Skill Line - AP or Rank Based?

I've been in PvP for about 2 hours and I swear the Assault exp bar isn't moving at all...

✭✭✭✭Assault and Support lines are based on your alliance rank. Assault rank 2 unlocks at Volunteer, rank 3 at Recruit, rank 4 at Tyro grade 2 and so on.0 -
Asrien✭✭From what I've experienced it's not really based entirely around AP. I played PvP for a while, then stopped and did some questing, but I noticed that when I had the ability bar with Rapid Maneuver on it active at an xp gain it did have an impact on the skill line progression, albeit a small one. I might be wrong though but I'd say give it a try and see what happens.0
