Undaunted Skill Line

Hey everyone

So I have just hit lvl 1 VET and opened the Undaunted skill line

I wanted to ask from those who are already familiar with the skill line which skills are useful and which are not

I am playing as a templar 2h and a bow

And also how can you max out the skill line? First by using it's skills, but what else? fighters guild - closing the anchors for example

Thx

To level the undaunted skill line, you need to complete dungeon archivements and do daily pledges.
For your build most skills are probably not that usefull, but you could try boneshield and you'll for sure profit from the passives.

Undaunted is leveled by doing group dungeons - especially by completing the daily pledges. There are also various dungeon-related achievements that level it. Some of those achievements are based on things like damage done/blocked/healing done while in dungeons, and for those it doesn't have to be a group dungeon, it can be a public dungeon or a delve. You can also gain some Undaunted XP by buying a drink for a member of the Undaunted in every zone.

As far as the skills that are useful, I'll leave that answer to someone who uses them more than me. I will say this, though: they are all built around synergies, so they're all most useful when you're playing in a group with other players. I actually think that's very good design, since the whole point of the Undaunted is to go and do group dungeons and such...

    I see, thx

But I don't really understand what do you mean by daily pledges? What are they?
I have this quest lvl 50, player group dungeon, to do some stuff like deactivate some kind of stone, is that it? How can I know whether which quest is the daily pledge?

At level 45 you should have got a letter that started a quest. This quest leads you to the undaunted enclave of your alliance (In Wayrest, Eldenroot or Mournhold). There you can get 2 pledges each day, one normal and one veteran. If you complete the dungeon which is the daily pledge, you'll get a reward and some xp for the undaunted skill line.

It's an achievement called "This One's on Me" so you can keep track of where you've done it by checking your achievements in your journal. It will tell you which cities you still need to do it in - I just finally went and did it on my main last week (I had been meaning to get around to it for a while).

Quoting myself from another thread here, as I think I did a pretty thorough explanation of pledges there:
    UrQuan wrote: »
When you hit level 45 you'll receive an Undaunted Enclave invitation in the mail (you probably have to have already become a member of the Undaunted to get this, but you should really do that by the time you're level 10-15 anyway) - this invitation sends you to the Undaunted Enclave for your alliance (for DC it's just outside Wayrest in Stormhaven, for AD it's just outside Elden Root in Grahtwood, and for EP it's just outside Mournhold in Deshaan), where you'll talk to a member of the Undaunted who will explain the pledges to you. Completing this mini-quest gives you a key as a reward that you can use immediately to unlock one of the special Undaunted reward chests (I don't remember if the key you get from this intro is a bronze key or a silver key), and allows you to begin doing pledges.

There are 2 types of pledges: regular pledges and veteran pledges, with the difference between the two being the type of dungeon that they send you to (the regular pledges always send you to the regular versions of the dungeons, even if they will be scaled to VR14 or whatever based on who is in your group, while the veteran pledges always send you to a vet version of a dungeon), as well as the rewards for completing the pledges (more on that later). This means that between level 45 and hitting VR1 the only type of pledge you can do are the regular ones, because you don't have the option of doing a vet version of a dungeon until you are at least VR1. The pledges change daily, and can be picked up from quest givers at the Undaunted Enclave.

Picking up a pledge doesn't require you to have already completed that dungeon before, and the days pledges are the same for everyone. This means that on any given day there will be a lot of people looking to group up for 2 specific dungeons (one regular, one veteran) depending on what the pledges are for that day. So if you happen to notice that the daily pledge is a dungeon you've never done before, you're in luck because it should be easy to get a group together to run it!

Each pledge requires you to go and kill the main bosses in the dungeon, but there are also optional quest goals that can be completed to gain a greater reward. For the regular pledge the basic quest is to kill the main bosses in the dungeon (this will give you a bronze key when you go back to the Undaunted Enclave to turn in your quest), and the optional goals are to kill all of the other bosses in the dungeon (this will give you a silver key instead of a bronze key - depending on the dungeon these optional bosses may be in your way anyway, so you'd typically kill them to get to the main bosses, or they may be easily skipped if you just want to kill the main bosses). For the veteran pledge the basic quest is to kill the main bosses in the dungeon (this will give you a silver key), and the optional quest is to kill one of the main bosses under certain conditions that make the fight more difficult (for example: one boss fight has an area with a protective aura that you can hang out in to avoid much of the damage, and the optional step in the pledge is to kill that boss without entering the protective aura - completing the fight in that particular way will give you a gold key instead of a silver key).

One thing to keep in mind when doing a pledge for a dungeon you haven't yet completed the quest for is that you'll have 2 sets of quest markers in the dungeon - one set for the pledge and one set for the dungeon quest. Don't forget to make sure you do both! On one of my characters I've still got the dungeon quest for Veteran Darkshade Caverns active because I was so focused on getting the gold key for that pledge that I forgot that I had the dungeon quest active as well, so I forgot to do the last step and collect my skill point... I kept the quest active rather than abandoning it in order to remind myself that at some point I've got to go back and do it :(

The best undaunted skills is the passive that boosts hp/mag/stam which you unlock at 7 and then 9

    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Undaunted skills...Blood altar...meh. I do like Tangling Webs (morph of Trapping webs) in pvp groups. It's nice to get some Fear onto those dang NBs spamming Their fear all the time lol.
Inner Fire is one of only two taunts in the game and a ranged one to boot. If you plan on doing any tanking it's worth having.
Bone Shield can be helpful in groups. Who doesn't want more shields?
I like Necrotic Orb, there's been times that damage + Magcika return is very helpful.

Of course, I'm one of those people that likes to have a variety in my bag of tricks for different situations :)

You know it's funny, the synergy for Blood Altar (especially for the Overflowing Altar morph) always seemed pretty darn good to me, but the only place I've ever seen anyone use the skill is in towns... Is the cast time what turns people off from using this skill, or is it just that there are better healing options out there?

Well one of the more popular skills I see in AvA is the blood alter which is basicly a AoE heal but I reccomned traping webs it is a single target skill but it snares the enemy I think by 70% and a ally can activate a synergy that summons 2 spiders to attack and it's morphs are one the spiders are much more powerful have poison added to attacks and last longer as the other cast fear on the enemy on the activation of the synergy.

I reccomend the more powerful spiders and this really is a specialty skill cause you do need your ally to activate the synergy in order to get the most out of it.

But you definly want the passives.

pretty sure the very bottom passive is the best thing in the skill tree and works for all classes.

Undaunted mettle it increases "X" amount of health, magicka, and stamina per piece of armor you wear and sure you know which stat belongs were.

Cast time + if you have more than a couple people on that Overflowing morph, it can be hard to hit the synergy. Easier to throw down a couple Healing Springs for better heals.
