82% when dual wielding and 30% crit damage buff from passive and CPs (1750 weapon damage buffed with siphon running). NPC health bars get silly. My NB is only VR5.

Nice I'm about halfway through VR5 myself and starting to feel pretty powerful. So long as i get the drop on ppl and pick on those without huge dmg shields I'm dropping ppl left and right. Can't wait to see how powerful VR14 feels on a nightblade with more than green gear on. My favorite combo by far in pvp is detection potion+piercing mark. So amazing

I'm nervous about PVP, not so great at it on my sorc, although when I do crack someone they get hit hard. This NB is my first alt so I decked him out in all blue set gear (5 hundings, 4 ashen, just basic stam redux jewelry) + always purple weapons (2h, DW and Bow). Made leveling up a breeze.
At VR5 I'm also really starting to notice a huge power gain. I leapfrog through content with ambush. Last night I found something that changed the game entirely... Athletics for Medium Armor boosts sprint speed as well as lower dodge roll cost... the tooltip doesn't say that very clearly or at all. Now I'm sprinting almost as fast as my mount w/7 piece medium. Couple that with killing and wow.
Anyway, on the crit topic, I'm wondering what I'd need to get it up to 100%. I know with more CPs and a set bonus I can get my Crit Damage up to 100%. For PvE that'd be just twisted. For PvP I could only imagine.

Of course it is. especially if you are doing it for pvp.
if you only have 10 seconds to kill or be killed then you want consistency.
i'm around 74% crit on bow, 80% with duel wield. so i know pretty much every hit is going to crit. i want to take someone down fast.
i don't want to rely on range/random chance in pvp 'will i crit' 'will i not'. this is the difference between 1 or 2 shotting someone or not.

50% crit for me is like going to the casino, red or black.
80% means i can confidently snipe/attack a player and know 8 out of 10 times I will crit
when you can kill someone hit 1 or 2 or 3 hits. then a 50% damage increase will secure the fight.
the people who say 50% crit is enough, may be referring to a pve/boss fight in a dungeon that takes 5 minutes of hitting the same attack over and over. In that case the damage/outcome/dps may balance out vs. having a higher crit chance (if you spend that 30% crit on damage). I really don't think that methodology applies to a 5 second pvp fight.
here is a real example.
i'm stealthed - i snipe with crit and 1 shot a sorc.
i'm stealthed and don't crit - the sorc goes to low health and then damage shields and streaks away.
i lost the chance to take him out based on crit chance at 50%
