Yeah, i wouldn't mind if it was group. Personally, i hate how i have to do quest's in general to move on. What if you like just to roam around?

I also think that all monster's anywhere should just scale to your level, this way you and your friend's can always play together no matter the level. There will always be higher level monster's that will give you more exp but if i go to help a lower level friend at least scale it to my level so it's still fun instead of one shot's.

Well why have levels in the first place then?

That's actually a more astute question then you probably realize.

I'm personally irritated by the entire game's "modes" of play.

I want it to be a large persistent world, where everyone is always together, and groups are formed organically.

The main world quests are basically single player, even though you can group, and both.. uh.. play single player.. together.

The main quests are the same as that but arbitrarily scale to you and forced solo, which is yet another step backward.

The group dungeons are forced grouping almost, and then everyone rushes ahead and you don't get to listen to the story or read the books or be immersed.

The pvp is entirely detached from the actual game, IMO.

7 games in one, and none of them are really ideal for a multiplayer experience.

I'm with you very much on this.

Overall I like the world of Tamriel and the combat etc , so I put up with the things I don't like.

But overall I despise the mmo direction of the past several years of yanking me out of the multiplayer virtual world and putting me in my own little special instance to tell me a story of how I'm the very special little snowflake savior of the realm unlike any other. Except every other snowflake outside the same door also.

I still prefer original EQ pre PoP for my style of mmo. A huge open world (I didn't mind having to zone due to technical limitations ) , with only one East Commons , no phasing crap, no East Commons 1 , 2 , 3 etc.

All dungeons were open world dungeons , you could bring 4 or 40. And so on.

What I'm hoping is that SWTOR's epic spending on voice acting and solo story telling that showed how silly that is for the mmo world will bring about corrections eventually in the next huge wave.

I play mmo's to play with lots of other folks in a virtual world , I like lore but let me learn the lore through books found on shelves ,don't yank me out of the virtual world to put me in a solo instance to be force fed a story like a single player game etc.

I'm hoping Camelot Unchained with old school servers , no phasing , no instancing , will be my go to game for PVP , and another indie mmo will do the same for PVE.

Main Quests being solo, I understand. You're the Hero, and that's it. No other individual helping you. I enjoy the Main Quests. The World Quests can be played with a group but do not progress when you complete an objective to your mates which is annoying. To fix this issue is straightforward. For Group Dungeons and World Quests, there needs to be a system like in SWTOR as in group conversation and group progressing through quests. Group Conversations are not needed but I would like to listen to the NPC speak instead of skipping as my group mates rush ahead.

If the main questline was optional and wasn't required in order to progress to the higher level zones, I'd agree. As much of the game is gated behind the main questline, however, I don't believe it should be forced solo. People who only like playing in groups shouldn't be forced to play solo in order to progress, any more than people who only like playing solo should be forced to group up in order to progress. I have no problem with having a certain amount of forced solo content and a certain amount of forced group content, as long as both are optional.
