I should get my wife to login , hit up the middle of town asking a couple basic questions , run it through the streaming capture card , and post the resulting video and full audio.
Bets on how long it takes before the C bomb and *** threats are made ?
Joyous area voice chat.

We consolers simply require this, ZOS. Are you aware that PvP group organizers have devolved their recruitment strategy to repeating, "stand by me for an invite" at objectives? Are you aware that people queue for dungeon groups never intending to communicate with the group AT ALL? The current system is game breaking.
I'm asking all of you to make this poll a clear, overwhelming demand for immediate implementation of text chat. We require this and we WILL NOT get it without concerted action on this forum. Thank you in advance
We already have voice chat? Whats the point of this?
It's such a waste of dev time... Just get on the mic and talk.
Honestly, why would you want text chat? I'm genuinely curious.

This was the reason why I was afraid to try voice chat at first, because it's the same thing everywhere else, and with text chat, at least it can take them months or even years to find out I'm female (no reason to mention it before, probably), and I'm treated with respect.
I finally worked up the courage some weeks ago (before my microphone got messed up), mostly out of frustration, to suggest to my PvP group we go take the Keep resources first, since we were getting annihilated by the defenders. I got several sexist remarks, couple of perverted IMs, and even a "we don't take orders from women lol go make me a sandwich".
Kinda glad my microphone broke. I play to enjoy myself, not to be harassed by idiots. At least with text chat, my gender is unknown or at least assumed to be default male, which works for me.
It's not a matter of courage, it's a matter of [...]Hiero_Glyph wrote: »At this point the very least ZoS can do is acknowledge this issue with a lurk post. Sadly I doubt they have the courage.
After actively following this topic since release and posting a few ideas here and there, this has been my take on it all...
By ZOS not responding people are fizzling out over the subject and becoming less and less prevailant on the forums... They are quick to moderate, lock, delete the topics but not acknowledge them at all. This all APPEARS to be their way of deferring to a later date when people leave it alone
It's more then annoying how quick the moderations come out in the various topics but not a yes or no to the subject...
If they ever fix the loading issue so I can play again I’d love text chat. When playing crown in Cyrodiil I find that I spend half my time spamming general area chat to keep my group filled. Not to mention it is nearly impossible to communicate effectively with other group leaders. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want to put out the effort to run a group due to the lack of a good communication tool. I’m fine with the people that don’t like chat having an option to minimize the chat screen but we should all at least have the option. A vote no on this forum is basically saying I don’t want to be able to have a good tool for communication.

My missus had the same sorta experience. She lasted a week before quitting.

This kind of internet behavior exists only in ESO area chat, right?
Geez. Its like the rest of the internet chat rooms and forums are kind and in no way mysoginist except for this narrow little slice of jerkingdom.
I sympathise, with your wife's situation, but my guild has several female players who as far as I can tell are just.another member.
Yes some people can be jerks. But those same.people will be jerks in text chat too.
Typing does not somehow cure sexism.
Play any game with a female voice and you are likely to attract some jerks.
GTA, call of duty, mine craft etc.
Its not right but its a bit narrow minded to pretend that zos somehow can stop the internet from being well you know.
Pro tip.
If you invite your wife to a PlayStation party you can cherry pick members.
Do this until you build up a reliable non sexist friend group.
Best of luck.

Yeah, theres barely enough bandwidth and ram for the game already.
Im sure adding a second redundant communication system won't cause twice the lag drops.
PvP needs to be sleeker not more bloated.

With text chat you dont have to disclose your gender. Makes it a lot easier. Im ignoring everything you wrote pretty much for fear of being banned. Lets just say it included the word "patronising"

Well I could be banned for posting some of the things I have seen in typed in ESO PC zone chat.
You would hope they would police that, guess what they don't.
So text chat is not going to rid you of the clowns at all.
Sad but true.

Atleast there is a log so people are abit more cautious with their actions. Al qaeda could formulate a terrorist plot in console chat.
