Light Armour Crafting

danthedon4
Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on crafting the best light armour for a sorcerer. I am mainly looking for a massive increase in either my magicka recovery or reduce cost of magicka.

I am kind of familiar with the process for making heavy armour, you deconstruct armour and weapons at the blacksmithing area and then use the material to make the armour you want, but how does this work for light armour? Do you deconstruct in the same way or is there somewhere else to go? In terms of the bonus you get on certain sets of armour, what is the best for a sorcerer?

I'm also slightly confused with how you can obtain the best enchantments for your armour. Do I really need to go searching Tamriel for runes or is there an easier way? I'm looking for glyphs to match my Veteran level 1.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Cheers :)

Jewelry is the only place reduce cost enchantments may be applied.

The seducer set has an 8% cost reduction. You can then do Torug's pact for damage or Magnus Gift.

Guess I should of read your entire post before replying. As far as obtaining enchantments, you can loot glyphs that may be applied. If you want to do custom glyphs, you can obtain the runes from gathering or by deconstructing glyphs. Enchantment hirelings may also bring you runes. Enchantment writs are another source.

Thank you for your reply and the information. I will look for the Magnus set then I think.

Could you help with the actual crafting part, is this done the same way as heavy armour?

    Thanks again :)

I would suggest you start researching traits on light medium and heavy armor or whichever you choose. It is nice to craft your own armor and not have to constantly go to someone to get something crafted. Light and medium is at the clothier booth and heavy is at blacksmithing. :D

Light (and medium) armour crafting works exactly the same way as heavy - the crafting station looks like a table with a stretched animal skin instead of an anvil. To craft special sets, you need to research the light (or medium) armour traits. For instance, you may have 5 traits researched on heavy helms - however unless you also research, seperately, light hoods and medium helmets, you won't craft special set headgear in light or medium.

As for enchanting, you can either buy glyphs from vendors (basic, white quality), from other playes and trading guilds, or you can make your own. To make your own glyphs you need runes, which can be found in nodes or obtained by decontructing dropped/bought glyphs.

I personally often just use a mix of twilights and Magnus

Clothing works exactly like blacksmithing. The best glyphs will be crafted as well. If you don't want to invest the skill points/time in enchanting find someone who has and get glyphs from them. You can also find good glyphs in guild traders but they're expensive. If you're not in a trading guild i suggest joining one so you can build some capital. Having lots of gold makes everything easier.

I wore a 5 piece seducer and 3 piece Torug's set until i had enough traits learned to wear Magnus 5 piece. Twilight's embrace is great as well. I'm currently 5 piece Magnus, 3 piece Twilight's. 5 light, 1 heavy, 1 medium. Mage mundus stone. Divines on three pieces of armor. I like ahving glyphs of absorb magicka on my staves.

Best is 5 Pieces of Seducer, then either add in 3 or 4 pieces of Magnus or Torugs Pack for a nice combo. There are other 6 Trait sets that might be better for adding to Seducer, but the ones I mentioned just take a couple of weeks to research the traits.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
