When you started the research, the item was consumed. Look your inventory what is left.

TBH Craftstore is better. It was everyone's favourite and then it got removed by the creator for about 5 months where everyone had to switch to Research Grid. Fortunately, Craftstore has been put back up for use and upgraded to the current game.
They are the same. Just a cosmetic difference.
