The only purple Items i find through stealing are purple motifys.....

i never found a purple legerdemain item

Keep in mind I'm referring to Epic legerdemain items, not recipes or motifs.

It seems nerfed imo, I loot a ton of safeboxes and I'm lucky to get one purple loot a week, used to be I could pull one every other day

I've found 2 epic legerdemain items. I didn't even know they had those the first time I found one. Ancient Dragonguard Burial Mask was the first one I found. Shame I can't wear it.

Other than motifs and such, I've only ever found exactly ONE purple legerdemain "fluff" item (as in, has no purpose other than to sell to a fence). Was called "Blade from a Daedric Razor Pit" or something like that.

I thought it was neat, so instead of selling it, I laundered it and it's now sitting on a mule.

I've looted thousands of chest and tens of thousands of chest / draws, etc and have never seen a single purple epic legerdemain item. I have been rank 20 legerdemain for a long time.

In that time I've run across multiple purple epics such as recipes, motifs and today looted the legendary imperial motif.

I've actually been wondering if their aren't some constraints in place before they even start dropping.

Are people getting them on PC? Do people have high bounties at the time? Do people have the 75 champion points in the chest item upgrade? etc, etc

None of the characters that have gotten them have anything special in the CS. I know for a fact that none of my characters even have the extra gold passive.

They are still Bound even after Laundering. All you can do at that point is Vendor.

They are around . When I was working for the black mogul achievement, I have since got 10 purples that I am currently keeping. Just last week, I found two - one from safebox and another from pickpocketing.

It's doable but a grind of its own. Say you have 4 toons, each are hardcore thieves. Raid someplace you like (every zone has places that are full of loot and virtually no guards) to your max 100 or so items to sell and 100 or so to fence. You'll get about 250 items that sell for a few thousand per day per toon. Maybe you can pull 10K per day this way. Now, grind for 3 months and "Viola!" you've made three quarters of a million by being a thief. In Tamriel, crime does pay, albeit slowly.

Thanks all for responding. At least I know epic legerdemain items still drop, even if they are insanely rare. I wonder if at some point ZOS will introduce Legendary items? Perhaps when the Thieves Guild is released?

As far as making gold, I can easily loot 8K or more per hour, and I'm sure there are others that can do much better than that. Find a concentration of homes to burglarize and usually many of those will have containers and lockboxes to loot. Don't take the white level stuff, just concentrate on green, blues, and above. If you run out of containers to loot, then turn your stuff into the fence. Once you come out of the Outlaw Refuge, then the instance will be reset and you can loot the same ones again Improve your skills. Once you get 4/4 on forcing lockboxes and chests, you don't need to worry most of the time about spending precious time picking them or opening doors.

I will admit that most of my gold was NOT made from the legerdemain items, but from the purple motifs and recipes found along the way.

Sell blue and green items. Blue items sell for 250g so that will help bump up your profit for much less items to sell. I don't want to disclose my farm spot but there's a specific city where you can go around a circuit pickpocketing and trespassing to get lockboxes which will net you 14000-20000 gold per hour at max fence limit. I do this every single day. Depending on your profit each day, you can get the black mogul achievement around 60 days (2 months roughly).

Well, for all we know, legendary items might actually exist already. If the difference in rarity between purple and gold is as staggering as the difference between blue and purple, then it might just be that they are so rare that no one has ever gotten one.

Yes, I recently found 2 purple legerdemain items Rift worth 750g each.
