Spell Crit vs Spell Damage

namelessone
I run healer in group functions and dps solo. I personally feel higher spell power and spell crit around 50% is good enough. Id rather have consistently high numbers rather than wait for a critical to occur. That said which is actually the better stat to invest in and why?

For healer, crit is more beneficial than for DPS. Because you have so many heals running at the same time. Healing Springs, regeneration and so on. So the crit chances are very high and will occure more often.

Just use precise on your weapon, use magelight and 5 pieces of light armor and that's all you need, that's enough crit. I myself have 5 pieces of the healer and 5 pieces of twice born star as a healer. And then I take the Ritual stone and the Atronach. Works very good for me.

I use light armor and i use whatever mundus gives extra magicka. my weaps are precise (will switch to nirn whenever I can get a nirn resto staff crafted or to research. will that ~50% crit rating def be enough for the 12 man trials? I am at 34% critical right now but I do not have the spell precision passive yet, nor am i in the vet 14 gear that will help boost it.

For healing, pump up that spell crit with non-set bonuses (50% is all you really need). This is usually done with CP (12%), Inner Light, 5 pieces of light armor, and precise on your resto staff. There's no reason to actually use spell crit sets.

You should be looking to stack spell damage with your gear sets. A healer with 2000 spell damage will be significantly better than one with 1200 spell damage.

Thats what I figured but wanted insight from others. My crit should be around 50% once I have the 30CP for Spell Precision passive. Now I just need to figure out how people get 20k health with 52 points in Magicka and 10 in Health then I should be good lol

If you want to heal, please don't use nirnhoned. This is more than useless, please use precise on your restoration staff and the ritual stone is better for healing than the mage and the Ritual's effect gets doubled next patch. And 20k health is indeed weird in pve, I can reach a bit over 15k with Magicka-Health Food.
In pvp it would be 20k of course
