How do stamina builds on magicka classes work?

I'm new to this game and couldn't find a summary of the answer I'm looking for. Basically I see a lot of things like 'stamina build sorcerer' but how is this supposed to work if a sorcerer has to cast spells with magicka? For example I read that stamina dragonknights are good so I made one and when I leveled up I put points into stamina, but all the abilities seem to use magicka.

Jar_Ek✭✭✭✭✭Stamina builds use magicka for some utility skills that do not scale with a n attribute and stamina skills for their main attack skills (and defence if they scale with stamina). So that is all non-staff weapon skills, fighters guild skills, and some class skill morphs,
Basically if you want to use a melee weapon or a bow you're likely to want to use a stamina build and use medium or heavy/medium armour. However it's not really very important until about level 50 - hybrids work okay until then.
And stamina sorcerers have almost no class skill stamina morphs and hence there are numerous threads that make suggestions to improve the situation for stamina builds sorcerers.0 -
Aeeeek✭✭My Magicka Sorc uses a bow, but for the Magnum Shot range control effects, not for the damage.
A heavy attack can still be enough for a finisher though.
My Stamina NB used to have mostly Magicka skills (before 1.6) but again, for the utility effects.
Now most are stamina, they do more damage, but compete for my primary resource pool. Took some adjustment.0
