What are your most favorited and disliked NPCs?

Just out of curiosity name a couple of characters which you like the most and some you don't really like - the reason behind it would also be welcomed. Let me start it off.

My favorite NPCs are:
1) Abnur Tharn (His cynism, sarcasm is a great tool to shape his character, also he is the most memorable one out of all the Companions. He doesn't just tell you what you want to hear, he sees things are they are and he likes to joke around and I especially loved the few lines he had towards Lyris.)
2) Cadwell (I suppose a great majority of players loves thi character, to me it's his way of seeing things, his "heoric" lines he has and well... I guess there's not much to say other than that... JOLLY GOOD!)
3) Razum-dar (I guess he's grown onto me, I always looked forward to get to quest with him. Not to mention his voice acting really reminds me of Ezio from AC series and he also has some really funny lines)
4) King Lalorian Dynar (A proud Ayleid and a great leader, it was a really cool feeling to battle Molag Bal alongside him... and his final lines, that almost made me drop one manly tear.)
5) Mannimarco (I was adoring his lust for power and his plans to "outscheme the God of Schemes", it is a really an interesting villain and I wish to see more of him in ESO)
6) Queen Ayrenn (Out of the three alliance leaders, she seems to be the most respectful towards other races, unlike Nords for instance. Whereas Jorrun and Emeric seem to be rather shortsighted compared to Ayrenn. I clearly remember Ayrenn in the Orrery, walking out in a beam of light, describing seeing a Dominion as the fair and just rule of the Tamriel, which she hopes to live to see. Suffice to say that she is more open minded about what's always going on.)
7) Angof the Undying (The first time I got to Coldharbour on my EP character, I wasn't aware of his doings in Daggerfall but I instantly knew I will choose him over any other of the three, Thaliik and Estre. His sort of russian-like accent made him a bit unique, his personality seemed to have changed in Coldharbour and he showed that he can be a great person and so since then I always went with Angof.)

And the NPCs I don't particularly like:
1) Lyris Titanborn (IMHO the simple, good "guy" character that fears no evil, aids you whenever you need, the every games', movies' and books' protagonist or the character that is simply way too good and moral and something about her doesn't feel right to me tho, lol. Maybe it's the fact that she is really so predictable, easy to know what to expect from her. I feel like I'm gonna get bashed for this)
2) Merric at-Aswala (Now I can't really say I dislike him or hate him, rather than I am really annoyed by his voice acting, seems like he's from the Stone Age. "I believe so, oh my comrade", "Truly? What have you learned?". Old school type of narrating not fitting into the game that well to me, too noble and hesitant but otherwise a he makes a good Guildmaster)
3) King Emeric (I have gone through DC only two times and it was a year ago so I can't really speak from my recent experience but a thing I remember about him and really hate, is that you always have to save him, all the time. Wherever he goes he gets captured or into trouble and even with dozens of Lion Guards behind his back he still wanted me to aid him. Walking around in his heavy armor, not taking a swing and his personality is really distant to me. He really thinks high of himself and talks to a person as if he was trying to get on top of them, to let them know he's the 'King' here, this forced respect towards him is what makes me think he's not a good leader)

That's it for my list, so what are yours favorite and well... less favorite NPCs?

How could I've forgotten, dammit?! Gotta love his lines, that m8 bears a gr8 wisdom, altough I liked more the "last" M'aiq we had in Skyrim. "Nooords are soo serioos aboot beerds, soo meny beerds. M'aiq thinks they weeshed they had glooorios pubes like Khajiit." It seems funny to me written like this, lol.

Most hated of all NPC's.....Vanus Galerion.

If you could be allowed to kill off just one, he would get it. In the most sadistic manner allowed in pixel >:)
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Yeah, Vanus was sort of a disappointment to me lol. I expected him to be older, wiser mage. He acts like a little Altmer excited about magic, considering he is the Mages Guild founder he might be actually acting more responsible. I couldn't believe that this really is THE Mages guild creator.

Razum Dar - Enjoyed his character very much and there was no way I was going to follow his orders.

Queen Ayrenn - Level headed and actually spent a few moments fighting with me because that's just the kind of girl she is.

Crafty Lerisa - I just love, love, love this girl's wit and charm. I also love trying to see what she's going to be next.

M'iaq the Liar - just not an ESO game without him.

Cadlwell - Bloody hell, is this guy fun to listen to. One of the very few unnecessary dialogues I don't leave.

    Dislike:
Jorrun - Not that he's a bad person, but my goodness, that voice didn't match the man at all. After two words, I'm pressing "A" to move the conversation along. Plus, did I just see a bird in that beard of his?

Emerich - This guy is weak to me and I dislike having to do quests for weak people. I just started these quests with him, so perhaps he gets better, but I'm doubting it.

Watchers, Harvesters, and Wispmothers - I can pretty much play solo in this game but these bosses just literally spank me for a few soul gems because I have to revive. I'm better with Harvesters, but only if they're alone (which they rarely are).

Molag Bal - No, not because he's trying to slap us mortals around, but for being the biggest pansy boss fight I've ever had. His own Watchers are stronger than he is!

Keeping the list short, but only because I've forgotten names. I also liked Merric (FG) and the girl from the MG, who is probably asleep right now for all the hard work she's done.

Stibbons is hands down my favorite NPC. The long suffering manservant of Lady Lauren never waivers in his loyalty to his mistress. Well.. there is that incident in Coldharbour but we won't talk about that. He makes putting up with King Im-a-wreck in the DC seem not so bad.

Seems amazing to me how I seem to come to agree with you all  Stibbons is so cool really, he's just like Sheo's Huskil, both loyal servants to their masters.

I agree with your list as much as I can (btw are you AD? ) And as for Dringoth, I too liked him but at first I was uncertain about him, we can't picture his face or something so it's hard for me to get to befriend him but his dialogues were funny indeed. And I especially like your part about Emeric, I feel the same way. And Jorrun too, his voice acting yo. His voice is just weak and he overall looks filled with mead lol. I mean players probably picture Ebonheart Pact's Nord leader to be something more similiar to the Nord Hero in the trailer. Tall, muscular coming with deep voice. Jorrun is just about to fall apart.

    1) Abnur Tharn - He has some excellent lines voiced with great skill and is the only one of the Companions who isn't a straight-up "noble hero" stereotype. He has some depth; yes he's arrogant and selfish but he doesn't covet power for its own sake, he cares about safeguarding the Empire...at any cost.

    2) High King Emeric (not to be confused with King Casimir of Daggerfall) - I disagree with some of the posters here who say he's weak, in Bangkorai he shows his true colors as a warrior and takes charge of an assault on a keep, complete with a rousing speech, and in general he appears in nearly every zone getting involved in solving local issues. In Stormhaven you do get to see his weakness but IMO that just makes him more believable and human (even rulers have weaknesses). I like his sense of humor too, it's subtle. (he doesn't demand respect because "he's the king" - that was the joke).

    3) Shazah (and her sister Khali really) - among the few Aldmeri Dominion NPCs I like and who make Reaper's March fun to play. They are a bit of a "studious mage/impetuous warrior" stereotype but they work, and Shazah has the best female Khajiit voice in the game.

    4) Zur - a somewhat minor character in Coldharbour, I enjoy his voice acting and wit, and it's not often you find a scholarly Khajiit.

    5) Razum-Dar - he's fun, and his wit is very entertaining.

    6) Angof the Undying - the most memorable zone villain IMO and the only one who gets any sort of character development. And yes, I like his voice.

    Dislikes:

    1) Queen Ayrenn - let's start with the unpopular opinion first ;) Queen Mary Sue as I like to call her has 0 depth and of course no appreciable flaws, is a noble warrior and a good queen all before she entered true Altmeri adulthood and she gets overly-friendly with the player all the while it's plainly obvious her voice actress had no connection whatsoever with the character and is just reading her lines. The most tedious and 2-dimensional of the alliance leaders.

    2) Gabrielle Benele - blonde bimbo high ranking Mages Guild representative who doesn't recognize a Dremora ("Oh...those are bad, aren't they?? ) Not my favorite character and she's overused in the questlines, especially if you're DC.

    3) Captain One-Eye - the Most.Annoying.Voice.Ever. It grates me to listen to her robotic dialogue.

I like many of the characters. Razum-Dar, the boney fellow in Grahtwood, Cadwell, Darien, Naryu, Stibbons & Lady Laurent and more are just a few of many examples of characters I really like. Its easy to pick characters I like. I agree with the statement above about Angof for instance. I'd rather talk about what I don't like.

Two characters I really do not like are Nicolene and Captain Kaleen. Nicolene is the most annoying because she's so happy and giddy, and she also is totally cool with dragging an evil necromantic orb back to Daggerfall to be used against the enemies of the Covenant. She scares me and she is creepy, and she's really lucky there's no option to kill her or Captain Kaleen, because I'd probably rally Lambur and her tribe of Seamount Orcs to roast her for dinner over the spit. I'm surprised because no one else seems to be so repulsed by these two, but they completely disgust me, and when I ran through the daggerfall storyline I never quite trusted them. I always expected them to eventually be part of one of Molag Bal's plots. They were too quick to jump on the evil necromancy bandwagon.

Angier Stower... I had no problem with her really, until I had to hear about Keynesian Economics over and over and over and over because the bank system didn't actually show you your information. I've got her spiel seared in my memory because of it (thankfully they removed it).

Beyond these three I really don't care have any great dislikes.

I completely agree with you on everything, especially on Angof, Abnur and Captain One-Eye. At first I liked that Argonian's voice, kinda cracky, deeply robotic but then I realized it's just a weird voice acting, since then I just skip her dialogue tho I like to listen to some nicely voiced NPCs even tho I know the dialogue.
And I guess you're right about Emeric. What I said in my original post was based on an experience old 1 year where I might've misunderstood him since I went through Daggerfall once or twice at most but soon Ima go through it again and I hope to understand him as I should've the first time.

There are a lot of interesting NPCs in this game, although few of them are as developed as they could be. Most of the major personalities have already been mentioned so I'll try to put in a word for a few lesser known folks.

    Likes:

    1) Queen Arzhela - puts Queen Mary Sue Ayrenn to shame in the strong female ruler stakes, IMO.

    2) Gwendis - Nice break from the norm to see a young, inexperienced vampire who gets drunk and makes inappropriate comments at parties. Bonus points for her not flirting with the player.

    3) Telenger the Artificer - stands up to a Daedric Prince and calls her madam, 'nuff said.

    4) Vanus Galerion - yes he's insufferably arrogant, but it's played well for laughs and lightens the sometimes very grim mood during the quests he's involved in.

    5) Darien Gautier - OK, he's a bit of a walking stereotype, but I couldn't help but warm to his easy going charm.

    Dislikes:

    1) The Silvenar & Green Lady - Something about the "arranged marriage, perfect couple" thing rubs me up the wrong way.

    2) Aranias - just how old is she supposed to be? Comes off as the worst kind of whiny brat, and her outrageously over-the-top powers are never properly explained.

    3) King Laloriaran Dynar - if Ayrenn is Mary Sue then this guy is Marty Stu. Does he have any faults at all?

    4) Sheogorath - IMO this game plays up his silly "cheese!" side too much. For those who have played the Shivering Isles DLC for Oblivion, too much Mania and not enough Dementia.

    5) Repetitive town NPCs - Too many of these to list, but (dis)honorable mentions go to "Did you hear? Some hero ..." in Daggerfall and "Such lovely plants ..." in Elden Root.

    NPCs I like:

Queen Ayrenn: I also appreciate her level headedness, and her acceptance of others. She truly is the best of the 3 leaders

King Camoran: I love wood elves, they make me laugh so much, I love that they just don't give a sh** and how they don't take anything seriously, I think king Camoran displays these qualities, and the fact that he is a king makes it even funnier.

Bosmer in general: I love the jokes they make, I love how casual they are, and I love how they can flip from carefree and not taking anything serious, into savage hardened warriors in space of a sentence.

Captain Jimila: I like her attitude, and I adore her character design, I wish she came into it even more even though she is somewhat of a minor, yet core character in the AD story line.

Sergeant Seyne: I love the character design.

Little Leaf in Craglorn: The only reason why I got any enjoyment out of Craglorn was little leafs dialogue. I really like Bosmer.

Razum-Dar: I love how funny he is, and how reliable he is

High King emeric: I find him funny, and I find him real, he is flawed and human, but does his best and has many redeeming features.

Naryu: She was awesome, I liked her dialogue and her character, and I liked how she seemed almost lost with things that didn't concern assassination or espionage.

The wood Elf Known as Finnedrin: HE HAS BEEN IN THE STOCKS FOR FAR TOO LONG!!! LET THE POOR GUY OUT ALREADY!

Khali and Shazza: I love them, and cry erry tem.

Vanus Galerion: I love how arrogant he is, it cracks me up

Darien Gautier: Once again, I love the arrogance

Telenger the Artificer: He was one hardcore dude

Abnar Tharn: I loved his brutal honesty and his lack of fakeness.

    NPCs I dislike/hate:

Skald King: Literally hate this guy. He is annoying, and I get sick of his "tough guy" act. Someone who is truly strong wouldn't have to pretend or try as hard as he does to prove it.

Shalidor: Holy crap I hate this guy. Pretty much all of his lines are "Bla bla, something boring" then "Damn mad god!" and "Sheogorath!". I sincerely hate him.

The prophet: I don't like his voice, I don't like his character, and he always comes off as if he is impatient and annoyed to be there. Screw that guy.

Sai Sahan and Lyris: Very boring characters. Uninteresting, I don't hate them, but I do dislike them.

Many Many of the red guards I dislike, Merric was cool, but apart from that I just really dislike their superstitions and how they are so damn cowardly and scared of everything if it even MIGHT have something to do with magic, for a warrior race they just seem really weak and wimpy if magic or undead are involved. "OMG ZOMBIES!!! QUICK, RUN AND HIDE LIKE THE COWARDS WE ARE".

    - Naryu: I absolutely love this chick. She is tough, smart and funny and I love the way she is voice acted. I can truely appreciate a cool female character like this.
    - Darien Gautier: A video-game character that managed to actually charm me quite a bit. Need I say more?
    - The Green Lady (first): I noticed some people did not like her, I was quite the fan! She just seems like a force to be reckoned with and I like that about her. I was cheering her on on her vengeance spree and I loved how the subjects of her wrath seemed legitimately terrified of her. (I believe I am not spoiling anything with these wordings)
    - Verandis & Gwendis: I loved these two together. I am a sucker for the master-apprentice lovestory. (Although in this case it may have been unrequited)
    - Abnur Tharn: Incredibly enjoyable dialogue. And any character that can make me laugh out loud is a pretty damn good character to me.
    - The Bosmer in the shack in The Rift: I forgot her name (and she disappears after you completed her quests), but she really amused me.

    - Queen Ayrenn: I do not even think she was a horrible character, but damn, she was so disappointing! Voice acted by a smart, beautiful actress that is known for playing awesome heroines, and they have written such a bland character for her. She was always a little too perfect, her "flaws" were never really portrayed as such. Just... Meh.
    - Vanus Galerion & King Dynar: Just going to list these two together because they appear in the same part of the story. But geesh, what a bunch of windbags. I was groaning in impatience each time I had to listen to these two. But in comparison to Ayrenn, at least they had personalities that were worth getting annoyed over... A special shout-out to the peroid of time where the chins of characters had a life of their own. Seeing Vanus' gigantic chin sway from left to right during a conversation was downright hilarious.
    - Nicolene: She mostly had an incredibly annoying disposition and high-pitched voice.

I must say that even the characters I disliked, I usually disliked because of their personalities/behavior. Kind of the same way you might dislike a person you actually meet. Which I think is pretty cool. The only one I found downright disappointing as a character was Ayrenn. Her personality was not extremely grating or bad, I mean, she seems like a nice person overall. But the character seemed like a missed opportunity, which is a bummer.
