What would work well for my new main?

Hi, I'd like to play something new, I tend to play as an imperial, and refuse to play templar, as I don't really don't like the class design wise. I've used every weapon except for dual wield and destro staff. Endgame this will end up in PVP, so I think it would need to be suited towards that end. In PVP I want to generally be involved, and I see a lot of classes using resto on the backbar, I like it for the support in PVP, Dual Wield could be an option for the front bar, but I've never used it and could use some pointers of what abilities and how the weapon functions. I'm also a fan of the fighter's guild abilities, even though with the upcoming lack of WW/Vampires they will be cut down a bit.

If you are looking to do dual wield, I don't recommend resto staff for the back bar since you would be stamina focused. The heals you would achieve with a resto staff would be minimal at best and any opponent could out DPS your heals if they play their class with any level of competency.

I would do a stamina Nightblade with 2h and dw. 2h gives a good gap closer if you choose not to use the class one. It also provides a great DPS boost and heal with Rally, so this could be your defense bar. DW bar would just be DPS focused. And if you aren't set on either dw or 2h, you can swap in 1h/shield for extra defense and a gap closer, or a bow for some great distance DPS skills.

Stamina builds are also the place to be for fighters guild skills.

Now if you really want the resto staff support side, I would do a magicka Nightblade or sorcerer. Both have great survivability skills and escapes. The magicka focus will allow you to have good heals and excellent utility. Your DPS won't be a good as a stamina nightblade, but it will still be pretty good. The weapon lines you would need to choose from besides resto staff would be destro staff for DPS and 1h/shield for extra defense.

Hm, I am curious into delving into the magic end, haven't really done much there. Would it work alright with an Imperial? I love the resto staff, lightning staffs are also useful as they have a similar attacking system, though I don't know much about sorcs and what could work well with the imperial.
