I can now make vet 1, 5 and 10 recipes in all blue combos and purple. How much could say a stack of 50 go for? Looked at a few guild stores, they just had low level stuff so was hard to judge.

    Never been able to sell food on the Guild Stores .. the provisioning profession is too easy to max out, most people can feed themselves if they have put a little effort into looting for mats.

    Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
    Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Well I just sold a stack of 50 vet 5 health and stamina for 10k. So maybe there is money in it. I'm on xbox, doubt pc would be like that.

    Hard to say. Prices on console are pretty high. Haven't seen a stable price for purple ingredients.

    A lot of PVP players on console don't bother leveling non-combat stuff.

    A guildmate of mine on XBox NA sells a lot of purple food in Cyrodiil by hand. Not sure for how much GP each ,but usually in stacks of around 20ish. He has 7 chars with maxed provisioning and does writs every day, so he has a lot of Frost Miriam. He went in with 2 stacks last night and sold it all in 20 mins wile I was cooking supper.

    I can only speak for myself but the only time I ever bought food was when I found 100 VR drinks available for like 500 coins. It's got to be such a good deal that it's a no brainer.

    I think its a good idea to do a little research. Visit several traders to see what like items are selling for. If the commerce system was game wide, I would say set it at slightly lower than the lowest one. But in this type of economy, there are other zone and alliance specific considerations.

    On the PC, I can only sell VR ranked Purple Foods, and for pretty much ingredient replacement cost. Blues, of any rank, even at give them away prices do not sell. I have a stack of 50 VR5 Blue Health and Magic foods that I can't move at 400 Gold for the stack.

    Consoles pricing is insane right now, but the laws of supply and demand apply to provision more so than any other craft. Reason, anyone can get to L40 and make top tier Purple Foods in an hour. There are no real barriers to entry here.

    So, go ingredient shopping, and take listed prices with a grain of salt, but try to determine what things are actually selling for. Add those ingredient prices up for a food/drink, then divide by 4. That will be your per food price to list for. Anything above that is a a gift or taking advantage of the unstable console economy.

    One thing to think about, the game pays people to acquire ingredients with Provisioning Writs. Run those across a few characters and you will have more ingredients than you know what to do with. So, the real cost of ingredients is 0. Even if you farm them and have to launder them, the price is 1 gold per ingredient.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    On the PC, anything apart from Bervez Juice and Frost Mirriam (purple ingredients) sells for 1k to 2k per 200.

    True. I swear 90% of PC players have a character with every craft skill. Selling actual food pretty much stopped like 2 months after release.

    Console not so much, and it is one of the things keeping prices so high.

    There are a lot of non-crafters on Xbox and people are making a lot of money selling food and potions. As a transfer, Ireally don't need the money... plus I'm lazy.

    I haven't bothered to check, but I bet there could be brisk sales in soul gems too on Xbox (especially to PVP players). They are so easy to fill, but people don't bother. I made a mint off them back in the day on PC.

    I've been making armor for guildies basically even trade for improvement mats + tips, even though the really in demand sets really don't need a lot of research.

    Consoles have a lot of non-traditional MMO players, there is a lot less support stuff going on. People seem to be more intent on lighting monsters and other people on fire, rather than make stuff, and craft supplies.

    I've seen a lot of bartering recently too.

    Try selling the purple foods is smaller batches. 50 vet1 purple foods last longer than people stay at vet 1. I sell stacks of 5 and they seem to move.

    I've been selling stacks of Blue VR1, 5 and 10 food, both health/stam and health/magicka at 50g a piece, selling in stacks of 24. It's not a lot of gold, but I put a lot of stacks up, which adds up. Each time I complete a prov writ, I used the mats I have to make blue food and repeat the process.

    But, as others have said, provisioning is easy to level and something a lot of players are currently doing. Early on in the game, on console, it was possible to make a ton of gold off of provisioning (we had a guild member that got to 50 provisioning in the second week), however. 2 months later, food is flooding the market. Selling the mats/recipes at fair prices is really where the gold return is at (at least in my experience)

    So far, the only goods I've been able to consistently sell are plants, raw mats that I don't use and recipes. I've heard Enchanting has been profitable for several guild members, as well.

    Sold a stack of 60 vet 5 health and magic for 10k as well. So there definitely is a market.

    There is money to be made in food, as it's a crafting skill most people don't level, and at higher levels food becomes pretty much a necessity for everyone. I found that leveling provisioning was difficult and tedious due to the number of recipes and ingredients available. I have a friend who makes mine for me and I supply the mats, but she says she makes a ton of money selling food in guild stores.
