V4, is it too late to level up antithetical weapon

Asked this in another thread but everyone was helping me with a DK build for my buddy. And I appreciate the help guys. But I'm a temp think about going to duel from s&b. I switch from bow to reso around level 30 and my reso is only 40 right now. If I made a switch this late will I be able to level up duel enough to be really good at it. Or will I have to use till like v14 before I can get leveled high enough to use the bottom skills and bottom passives, if really ever?

I'm leveling Heavy armor and I only started at VR3. Now at VR5 and I'm mostly done. I think you will easily be able to level it up before VR16.

What most people do is use wykkyds outfitter, it lets you save a skillbar setup

So i saved all my skills that i want to level up (but not use during normal play) on a leveling bar

When i turn in a quest, i load the skills into my bar

For example when i am enlightened i get 49k xp for turning in a gold pledge
Same for pvp quests like kill 20 players or capture scroll
Cyro daily quests etc also work

If you dont use addons , like i did not for a long time, you can manually put the skills on your bar before you turn in your quests. You will see the skills level up really fast when you get the xp for the quest.

You dont even have to have daggers on you to level the dualwield skill line this way.

If you level by grinding, you can put the skils you want to level on your bar, maybe 2 at the time , so you can still use 3 slots for selfheal , aoe and evil hunter

Beesting, Bosmer Magica DK, AD EU, crafter
Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

When you make or have made for you your Sword and Shield, have them put the Training Trait on it and improve it to Blue or even Purple. Your gains in the skill line will skyrocket. Nothing in the VR content really requires optimized gear to defeat, just a good rotation, so your not really giving up anything you need to do this.

I started leveling dual wield at VR1 with my templar. At VR3, I'm almost done.

AFAIK, skills line level with experience, meaning that considering you get more from a mob now than you did when you were lvl 40, it should be faster. As a templar, if you're using class skills (like jabs or puncturing sweep, for instance and focused charge as a "charge" to jump from a mob to another), it shouldn't even be a problem as your dual wield weapon skills doesn't matter much except for the last passive.

As Nestor said, get a training weapon (or two?), upgrade it to blue quality and it shouldn't even be a problem.

Yeah that's the plan. I only use shield bash and puncture from my s&b line, and I was going to change that to forced charge. I need dps since one of my bars is pure supportive skills

Just use training equipment, they level more than twice as fast then.
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

You can level skills fine in vr content tbh. I have all weapons at 50 and most morphs maxxed now and most of that was from vr content.

I always level all skill lines. Just do a respec to get the point back to put into the skill lines you want to train. Reset your attributes and change your gear so that your resources match the weapon type you want. Vet levels would be far too dull if you were still using the same build as you had sub V1. Once you hit level cap you can then pick the ones you like best.

You can level up sword and board to 40+ in just two zones if everything else is leveled to 50 already. I did the same thing recently when I decided to switch from 2-handed to tank.

As quests give the most Experience, it is just harder to level something at max rank as you have probably done the quests already. However you can grind on mobs and level an skill if you have the skill slotted when doing so.
