My level 15 buddy is trying to find out what to do with his 2nd bar for DK

Any DKs can give me advice to tell him. He is leaning toward reso staff so he can heal. I was telling him destruction staff, since the bow stacking glitch is supposed to be getting fixed. Do you guys think reso is a good option for a DK? Oh yeah he also told me that most his skill morphs have been magic so far. Any advice would be appreciated, I run a temp so I have no idea what to tell the man.

Oh and for any temps, I'm v4 and thinking about going duel/reso from s&b/reso. Is it too late to get my skills up on duel skill line since I don't really level up anymore? And is duel a good option. Blocking is getting a hit, so I wanna try to do more dps.

By the way this is only with PvP in mind. I'll go s&b if I even do dungeons

    I wouldnt recommend Destruction Staff, I just today switched to Destro staff with my DK, and I had to build own gears for him to be effective, I suppose its the same for PVP too. Destro tree is so unbelieable weak if asked from me. I played long time with Shield and Sword, tank and self-heal build, then second bar was for dmg, dual wield or two hander.

    All about experimentation. Try different weapon & skill options (as they open up). My DK uses fire staff (destro), bow & 1 handed sword/shield. Never really encountered trouble while leveling.

    Dual wield/bow for pve stam or 2h/bow PvP stam.

    I do run a DK. Hence why I contributed to this discussion. My DK is VR9.

    Its weak tree. Even Ive over 320 CP and it still sucks. Sure I didnt had much time to explore all the possibilities, maybe I missed something very crucial.

    A magicka based dk is actually really good at vr14 with good gear and skill. All you need from the destroy staff line is force shock and the rest of your skills are dk skills.

    Holy cow. You're doing something wrong, not sure what. Destro for magicka DK is a must use tree. i use destro all the time and pull some great dps. Elemental Ring/Force pulse is crucial for aoe damage ( useful in solo aoe, group dungeons and trials). Elemental drain is awesome for magicka return, Crushing shock/Force is not bad for range dps. Equip a fire staff and some of the abilities deal fire damage which benefits from your fire passives.

    There's no reason not to max destro tree with your DK imo.

    Here's a thread (watch the vid) of a guy I respect using destro. A bit dated, but you'll see the benefits.

    I run a V13 DK and use Sword / Board in the first bar and destro staff in the second.

    This setup is great for high survivability. Primarily tank with some range mixed in from an inferno staff. I find using Talons (DK ability) mixed with Wall of Elements (Destro staff) is a good root/aoe combo for killing groups of mobs while questing or grinding.

    The build is great for tanking in dungeon groups as well. Not the greatest for PvP though, since I pool most of my points into health, the damage output isn't too great.
