Not an I quit thread because I'm not quitting, but I have today cancelled my and my son's ESO Plus membership. The reason being that we are both casual players, we both play other games far more. As a casual player of ESO I find that when I do login I have nothing to do. I cannot do anything in Craglorn alone and this game doesn't allow teaming with players that are at a different level or who have already done the quest you are on. My son is VR2 and I am VR12, so I can't help him and he can't help me. Same with our guild, most of whom are VR14 and because gear is important they don't run stuff with lower levels.
I started a highly defensive build to attempt Crag on my own but I've kind of lost interest now. The group finder still doesn't work, I can wait hours for a group to form I suppose but as of yet I've never been able to form a group with this system.
I don't like PvP at all, it's far too difficult for me as a casual player, constantly ganked if you go in alone and in a group whilst fun if you do die it's a massive long horse ride back to the action, which to me is pretty boring again and again. When you're in the action there is so much Sorc spam I find it hard to even see who I'm supposed to be shooting at.
When I learned that IC was coming soon my hopes increased dramatically only to be dashed the instant I discovered it was a PvEvP map, I can imagine the gankers just sitting at the gates to IC and stopping anyone getting in.
That only leaves RP, I used to think the towns and cities in ESO were pretty good but then I played TW3 and my God that's how to bring life to a game, now everywhere in ESO appears populated by automatons that are on a short cycling loop animation.
So I thought I'd just relay my reasons for cancelling my sub if anyone is interested or if anyone feels the same, I know I am just one voice in hundreds of thousands but I can't believe I'm the only one who is disappointed. I'll pop in from time to time, see what's happening, keep the game patched etc. For those that stay I wish you all well and hope you continue to enjoy ESO. For those that don't play as much or not at all I fully understand, let's hope that ZOS can add content for the casual gamer in the future.
All the best
Matt
