Quest - Main craglorn chain question re. activation pads

So I am at the part where you need 3 people to stand on the 3 pads simultaneously. I read you used to need 3 people who were on the quest and were at the same part of the quest. Is this still the mechanics? Or can I just snag random people who arent on the quest now?

I do almost everything solo, so I don't want to get to this quest to find out that it's mandatory to find 3 people at the EXACT SAME POINT in the quest as you.
Considering how empty the game seems to be on the XB1 EU server right now, I'm guessing <1% of those guys will fit the requirements when I need them.Guildmaster of Spectral Liberty - Xbox One - European Megaserver0 -
