Style Tab (DCUO inspired)

Vampire-Mk2
Hi all

I'm new to TESO. I'm on PS4 and this is my 2nd MMO, DCUO was the first one I played. I did notice that when you equipped armor in DCUO you also collected the "Style" and built your collection etc.

No matter what armor you actually had equipped you could select a previously collected style for individual body parts ie legs, head, shoulders etc from a second tab or window. Does TESO have this or a similar feature and if not would you like to see it added?

Thanks for reading.
Yeah I used to live in Skyrim. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

I've played both DCUO and most TES games. It's just never going to happen. TES always has been a "look like what your wearing game."

Apart from the whole costume and appearance stuff...

As a fellow DCUO player, yes it was nice but it was one of the few mmos that actually had that feature. I don't see it working in RPGs such as ESO (or other castles/dragon type mmos)

And while that was nice I'm glad this game doesn't have it (even though we have costumes/disguises). It puts more work and customization into what gear you use instead of just wearing the best gear and continuing on wearing whatever style you wanted. I love having to carefully choose what gear I wear in what racial style, it makes it feel more unique.

A style tab would be pointless, rather than creating armor and then changing the style, in TES we just create the armor in the style we want. If you want each part of your armor to be in a different style, just create it that way.

Plus I haven't come across any armor drops better than I can make, but I don't know if that will be the same when I get to VR ranks I'm only level 44.

Maybe I need to look into smithing.

I for one played DCUO - for that game, the system worked. Since generally superhero stuff is about the powers, not the gear... and the gear you get in the game is more of a crutch to simulate these powers.

For ESO... I'd hate it. In fact, I even dislike that we have costumes people can wear in combat that don't look like armor, thinking it would be better if those non-armor costumes were restricted to out of combat use...

What I -would- like to see is an "style reworking" option for everyone. Much like the imperials can turn some gear "imperial", I'd like to see the very same thing as an option available at any crafting station, consuming tempers and style materials, with a fail&destroy chance just like temper improvements, allowing skilled crafters to basically reforge weapons, remake clothes, etc., changing it to any style they have learned... that was, people could have the sets they like, and still look as they wish too - also including lower level style options (I know many people would like to keep the low level style breton shoulders for light armor...), but excepting styles not currently learnable, like lich, necromancer, draugr, yokudan, etc. (and of course, someday these styles could also show up in the crown store...)

In DCUO you play as a super hero. The outfit of a super hero is linked to their identity. This is not the case in The Elder Scrolls. I personally disagree with the whole costume portion of ESO but understand the need for them for revenue... so I personally don't want style tabs like dcuo. At most, I would like to see imprintable custom costumes that are sold in the Crown Store. Same end result but different functionally.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

TESO does not have this implemented but I would love to see it in this game. I played dcuo for awhile and I loved that feture. I had the top tier gear but ran around in underwear and a pimp hat.

Right now there's a blind +2 level/+1 VR bonus on crafted items. So anything you craft will be, basically, two levels or one veteran rank higher than it appears to be on paper. (I think the crafted level 50 items are equivalent to VR2, but I'm not sure off hand.) This is the same bonus you get for each quality tier. So a level 10 crafted green will have the same stats as a dropped level 10 blue. But, everything is getting that blind bonus with the IC release, so crafting won't be quite as amazing then.
