Make Settings Apply to ALL Characters

Every time I make a new character in ESO, or go back to play an older one, I completely have to re-do settings for my add-ons, social, keymappings and everything else. There REALLY needs to be a way to make this apply account-wide, not per character. It's rather frustrating to have to apply the same settings EIGHT times, and go back and tweak for color, consistency, etc.

This should be a pretty small quality-of-life change. Not something that should be mandatory, but at least give us the option to apply settings account-wide.

Well, I suppose it may be concievable that some people might have different settings on different characters. Maybe.

Solution - make an option to save all your settings to some file on your computer, and import those settings into each new character... and possible to import different named setting schemata on different characters.

There are some addons that have Account Wide settings, but not all of them.

I think there is a folder that stores the settings for addons, but not sure if it's parsed to be able to use on other characters easily.

Just be thankful we don't lose all settings like we did during the first 6 months with patches.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Hence why I said at least give the option. I've never had to apply the same settings 8 different times in any other game. Then if I change one setting or install a new add-on then I have to go back and do the same thing seven more times on all my other characters.

    It's an oddly frustrating task.

Yes. This is extremely annoying. Im getting to the point where just turning the game on is an inconvenience. Nothing works correctly

Add-on settings can be account or character specific, depending on the writer of the add-on. Nothing really for ZOS to do about that.

We would have to have a setting about whether the settings are saved and applied to the account or character, which begs the question, is that setting the sets the settings stored for the account or the character, and do we need a setting to set whether the setting setting is account or character based?

I agree with OP. Settings are about the human interface, not character and I would venture to guess the majority of people playing the game use the same settings across all their characters, unless they're lazy like me and haven't gotten around to changing everyone's settings yet.

There's an addon which handles this for keybindings at least... It's called Binder. It's tagged as "out of date" but it still works, last I checked.

And those of you who are, have my deepest condolences.

Binder did work for some things, but not for Social (guild chat colors) or some other minor settings. It's just feels counter-intuitive that I need to through and do this on different characters over and over. I know it's been that way since launch, but it's still just as frustrating a year later.
