Is being a solo tank kinda pointless?

just go dps until you reach like vr10. Slot some skills you wish to level up for future tanking and maybe a heavy armor or two. Leveling is faster that way. Tanks level really slow in comparison to dps, naturally.

YES! A real tank is = HA 1H/S
HA is a joke when even a player in cloth can take almost the same dps streght up as u can in a HA. and if using shield stacking are imune to dps at all, and beside that Hit 5 x harder then you ever cut dream off. And beside that are able to dance around you like you where a fool.

Um... I've heard from different source how light armor tanking so good is, but maybe I run into mediocre light armor wearers, they kept dropping like flyes whenever a melee mobs in vet dungeons poked them lightly.

I tried med armor combos too, noticed survivability going down significantly. Sooo. Heavy armor is quite good in my experience.

You can't really solo tank, every battle will take forever and you are gimping your leveling process as you have stated.
Start pumping stats into stam, pick up either 2h or DW then a bow when you hit 15. You can keep the heavy armor for now. Start getting skills in those weapon lines, and one in each class skill line.
You do not need to respec, Just alter your plan from here and you will start catching up very quickly.
The most important ultimate for any DK is Standard.
If you want a comprehensive DK Stam check this out http://deltiasgaming.com/2015/03/08/the-bloody-butcher-dragonknight-dps-build-for-update-six/
Just start following this guide and you can correct your course. Don't worry about your stats, You can fix those much later.

You just need to level up. Dragon Knight is at its weakest early on, but rapidly starts to power up as you gain access to some of the middle to higher level abilities. I recommend you keep at your build, and later on when you get the skill points to do it you can start learning another weapon for killing faster.

I remade my dragon knight a few days ago. I decided to go heavy armor and sword/board. It's alright but I seem kinda weak compared to everyone else running around. These templars zip through everywhere taking *** down like Zeus or something with these thunderbolt things or whatever they are. I'm sitting there slapping fools for little damage and I don't seem particular tough. I'm putting most of my points in health.

I'm only lvl 10, does it get better? And if so when.

Ive been a tank since i started game. Tho i spent first ~20 lvls always doing things in a group with friend (dps/heals) later on i soloed whole content up to lvl49/VR1 and coldharbour and then soloed whole silver/gold (ending up with VR11 character) in this process. From the beginning i was dedicated tank, not some pseudo tank/dps hybrid or just "DPS with sword and board".

Yes, it was long, yes, sometimes tedious (*cough*Stomping Sinmur*cough*) but doing so, being dedicated to your role, not switching left and right like flag on the wind, will teach you a lot how to deal in various situations, not just DPS cut trought everything.

So yeah, it took me exactly 16 days to reach lvl50(VR1) and then about 14 days more to finish cadwell gold and reach VR11. During that i did every single quest i could find (almost all), all solo and public dungeons cleared. I only grouped occasionally for clearing dolmens (lvls <VR2 or so, later i didnt have to) and ofc for group dungeons.

So yeah, it is possible to play tank from the start and be dedicated to your role. For me it took ~30 days to clear almost all content (you have to decide if its a lot time for you or not). If you have any questions regarding solo tanking form the beginning you can always PM me.

I have found over my many years of mmo experience, tanks are a necessary part of the game... However without the proper team they due lack the dps to blow right past things... Every type of character has its flaws... Dps have to be careful of damage around them and can easily be taken down with the right attack, healers can lack dps and battles can continue for larger periods of time, and tanks can survive through long battles and high dps... But lack the dps to ravage through opponents.

If you do not want to play with others, you can always change your build slightly... Allowing a bit more dps with the cost of a little surviviability.

Personally when I am playing with others I change my skills to reflect the group I'm in, if a healer is around I tend not to worry about healing abilities and shields as a good healer with keep me alive and protect me with shields. A tank takes agro so I can concentrate on damage output instead of dodging and cc enemies.
