Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Why were Xbox and Playstation given greater access to Nirncrux than PC??

Last week, both versions were patched:

"Nirncrux can now be obtained from all rich ore, rich wood and rich cloth harvest nodes in Craglorn, not just the ones in the upper reaches of the zone, and not just from the highest tiers of material."

This is NOT how it works on the PC/Mac; and this change did NOT happen in this weeks' PC/Mac patch.

Whats up? Will there be MORE differences intentionally created between consoles and PC?

I thought this was how it worked on PC too. The rich spots they are talking about are the surveys and I had always assumed you could get nirncrux from surveys in Craglorn.

No, you can only get nirncrux from surveys in Upper Craglorn. Unless it was stealthily changed, but I don't know why they'd do that.

Only Upper Crag surveys have a chance to drop nirncrux on PC/Mac. Sucks, since we already have to get lucky to get a survey with writs in the first place. it's almost a waste of time to chase them down if the survey is not in Upper Crag. More people should submit complaints requesting either all surveys are Upper Crag only, or as on the console, all surveys have a chance at nirn.

The armor traits will no longer affect your overall spell resistance, but the individual item's value.
so the '22% bonus on spell resist" will be like a 'Reinforced' trait, instead of a general buff

You know, I was waiting for today's patch notes to check this as well. Tonight I'm going to /feedback this, but a forum reply from one of the ZOS community managers would be nice... because let's be honest, boosting drops for one platform and not another will only make players distrust/antipathy towards other platform users even bigger (see some comments above mine for examples).

if nirn is still going to be better than generic traits, peeps will still want it and instead of one, they will need more so my guesss - prices will go up, not down

It is definitely odd that this was not done for the PC players. Even if it was an over-site I would have thought it would have been added in the PC patch today. The game should be the same across all platforms.

If this isn't already how it works for PC, or is planned for PC, I would assume that it is to help console players catch up to the PC transfers. I mean, you had PC players starting the game at VR14 when console players were level 1. Those players have been gathering CPs, prepping for the new DLC... while console players level desperately to catch up. I would imagine ZOS is going to do what it can to give them some way to catch up to those players >_>

Whether PC "gets to use addons" is irrelevant as they are not part of the base game. It is not an excuse for one verion to be better/less than another.

The base game should be the same across ALL platforms, otherwise ZOS creates strife between the platforms, and it's not like any fuel needs added to that fire....

If you want addons, buy a pc. Or keep fighting for the basics to be added to the game itself. But no freaking addon gives a better nirn drop rate, and that should be the same across all versions.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

To be fair, the launch of PC didn't involve having players already at max rank earning the next level of progression while everyone else was starting fresh at level 1. If we're talking fairness, here, console players have gotten the short end of the stick across the board in pretty much every possible way. Throwing them a single bone, especially since they can't bring that nirn over to PC, seems like the least ZOS can do. Especially with it becoming relatively useless in the DLC, IIRC.

"To be fair" that has nothing to do with the players. That bad decision was on ZOS. You shouldn't get a *different* game because of a different platform unless it is literally not feasible.

By the "its fair because you guys have addons" standard... I can say its "fair you don't have text chat because you have a higher nirn drop rate".....See how irrelevent a comparison that is and just plain dumb to say?

I thought players were allowed to transfer accounts so everyone didn't start as a level one.

Hey guys, just want to let you know that the Nirncrux increase will be available on PC when we release Imperial City.

So increase in availability but decrease in usefullness?

Wtb nirn - 100g a piece lol I guess Nirn season is over, we'll move on the next item(s). You do understand that this makes it very hard for non end-game players to earn decent amounts of gold! End game players (myself included) have and will make big $ by selling and reselling high end loot. By the time others catch up, said high end loot has become a commodity at most.

    Just my 2 cents

Therefore, only those with paid DLC access get the Nirncrux, or am I missing something?

Crafters care. If someone wishes to become a 9 trait crafter they need to research items with the nirn trait. I have many guildies that stopped their crafting research before 9 because nirn has been too expensive.

Will this really cause prices for items with the nirn trait to drop? This isn't of much value to me if I can't afford to buy the items to research for the trait.

Why the blatant first-class/second-class split, especially when the second-class are those players who paid and ensured there'd still be a game for the first-class to come to a year later?
