Please reconsider a Chat Box for those that want it. Make it a option at least. I was logged into the game for about 30 min and had to turn off voice chat because it was really bad. From feedback from others mics to the person constantly yelling and saying the game sucks etc. It is great when in a guild or with a group, but part of the game is interacting with random people to sell/trade items and the voice channel will need to be open to do this and it just is a mess. Give us the option to have chat box and let the end user decide if we want to use it or have it closed.

Voice chat needs a pretty major overhaul, particularly the lack of features for the group leaders. Group leaders should be able to control volume of group members, place group leaders into second group channels and a mute feature would be desirable.

You are right I didn’t state that very well. Group leaders can leave their group chat to communicate. My point was more along the lines that since console doesn't have a zone text feature we should be able to have a sub group for group leaders. I know we can all join the same guild but that isn’t necessarily going to be the best solution for every group leader. For instance some people play a lot and may already be capped on guilds where they are active members.1 -

Since you spend the majority of your timing PVP'ing, I can see how it's easy to be insulated from issues that arise with voice chat in PVE settings.Edited by dday3six on August 3, 2015 3:17PM0 -

I've been focused solely on the fact that text chat is missing, and have really not said anything about voice. But in comparison, DCUO gives you the ability to not only mute individuals but lower their volumes and higher other players volumes so you can focus on certain people, gives you different chat channels for group, area, guild and a trade/log chat that spans areas and zones, as well as the option to create your own chat channel or even whisper to someone specific. The options are endless.
But when you're in a certain channel and can't hear anyone else, we always have the text chat box so our guild mates can type out "DUDES, ANYONE WANNA DO BATMAN RAID" and we'll all jump in the right chat. Text chat please.
Oh, and text chat box has been a heated subject since game launch. Search for it. This isn't the first thread. Hundreds of thousands have been asking just for a response from developers to no avail. Keep pushing the envelope. It can only help the cause. Thanks..... I have to admit, the devs do listen to reason, if not to the forums. Thank you for "nameplates", a welcome addition to immersion, as well as the text chat box for PS4, which only comes on the screen when I need it too, and helps this gameplay SO MUCH MORE then without it. THANK YOU for the additions. Very much appreciated.1 -

Thorn2015Soul ShrivenYeah I would like to see this implemented too, I use a pair of TurtleBeach Elite 800's which obviously have the option of turning down sound, I can turn down my MIC volume but that doesn't stop other people screaming into their headset. I was looking for a text base system to chat to other people on the PS4 version and couldn't believe one didn't exist?!0
