Vampires telling new vampires not to feed

Bones_PXOXM
What is wrong with you? I turned a guy into a vampire recently and he told me people had been telling him that not feeding and going into stage 4 vampirism made you "One of the most powerful vampires." Okay seriously, stage 4 vamp reduces your health regen with the trade off being your vampire skils cost less to cast, all two of them -_- Mist form is mostly for running away/regrouping in pvp or sometimes avoiding aoe attacks you can't out run or don't have the stamina to dodge, makes sense, I'd run too with 75% reduced health regen. And then there's drain why do you need the cost of that reduced? When you're only able to use it once per monster I don't see where you'll be repeatedly spamming it much. And before everyone starts saying health regen in combat is useless (I disagree) it still sounds a lot more useful than reduced magika cost for vampire abilities, again all two of them. Getting tired of hearing this misinformation being spread. Eagerly awaiting the comments from people trying to explain how I don't know what I'm talking about as they try to explain it with total nonsensical logic and insults, and then strut around as if they're flipping geniuses.

While I agree with you, you forgot the main skill it reduces: bat swarm. It's not just the magicka skills that are reduced.

Huh? My vampire character has never fed in the entire time she has been a vampire, something like 6 months. Don't see the point in staying at a lower stage of vampirism. May as well go and get cured.

When playing solo i like to have my vanpirism at stage 1. When with friends or in group i prefer stage 3 or 4. For spammimg batswarm :)

Feeding sucks since the duration to stay stage one is only one hour. I ise bat swarm so it benifits me to stay stage 4 though. The health regen is'nt so bad.

Stage 4 hit to Health Regen is basically meaningless -- every vampire character I have run has simply used Heal Over Time effects.
    HoT > Health Regen.

If anything, ZOS needs to make Health Regen more powerful before being Stage 4 Vampire actually holds detriment.

Never fed, not once. I wanted to become a Vampire; now that I am one, why would I do something that would make me more human? Sure, fire hurts more and the health regen is slower, but I'm a Vampire. I expected these things. Feeding is kind of pointless to me; it's too much of a hassle to worry about keeping myself within the most "optimal" stage by feeding every hour or two of play. Besides, I like striking fear into the hearts of my enemies at Stage 4 with my blood-starved, ghostly appearance and my wild, hungry, glowing red eyes. >:)

Whats the point of being a vampire if you are not going to feed? Dumb system is dumb.

Isnt the point of vampire lore though that you need to feed on blood to survive?

Usually when you don't understand why people are saying something, it's because you don't understand why people are saying it. In that situation it is best to ask for clarification rather than admonish something you don't understand as wrong and foolish.

I'm not a vampire, never been a vampire, and really would only be interested in becoming a vampire if I were to run into the mobs that turn you in game. (Since the handful of times I actually tried to find those mobs resulted in nothing more than wasted time, I've long since given up on this watered down game mechanic.) That being said, as some have stated in this thread, there is a valid reason to remain in stage 4, reduction in cost of batswarm, which in turn is the only compelling reason to become a vampire in the first place. The detrimental side effects of stage 4 vampirism are extremely manageable as well, as someone mentioned earlier, they've been a vamp for over 6 months and have never fed once.

This is an excellent example of a perfectly natural human reaction that we all should attempt to consciously avoid. Before insisting people should stop doing something that seems wrong to you, ask if there is a valid reason behind it first. My grandfather used to tell me, "You have 2 eyes, 2 ears, and 1 mouth. Use them in proportion."

I know that this is pretty useless because the OP is too convinced of his own view and denies the facts, but let me at least try. So, the only downside to not feeding is the HP regen reduction. Now why do we need hp regen? In PvE we have healers that can sustain us, and in PvP pretty much everyone has selfheals. HP regen is pretty much the most useless stat to have, so you can easily drop it. I would love to hear why you think HP regen is a good stat tho.

Upsides of not feeding: reduced cost of abilities. The two abilities you mentioned are kinda bad in most situations, but you forgot the ulti. Having that really strong ult up all the time is really strong in both PvE and PvP. I don't know a single good player that prefers to be at stage 1 instead of stage 4.

Incorrect. Stage 1 is only HALF an hour. Of all the things that are wrong with vampires the duration of the Stages is my #1 complaint.

I love feeding my vampires! All three of them are opportunists, feeding whenever there's a tasty morsel nearby!

My main gripes are similar to Morna's - stage 1 is way too short, and feeding should cause health loss in the victim. They're losing blood, after all.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.
