Hiya,
I guess this message is on behalf of everyone using window's 10.
I've been looking on the internet for and news on Direct x 12 for ESO and haven't come across anything as of yet, So my question is, is there plans in the pipe line to implement Direct x 12 to ESO?
Many thanks, Terry.

The short answer is no. The longer answer is it would take to much time. We dont even have a 64bit version yet.....and that is VERY needed at this point

+1 on that. 64bit would be 100X more useful than DX12.

Maybe when the 10 has been more established and widespread (and by then more people would have better systems to support it) maybe... I mean xbox one also uses, or is going to use DX12, so they would shoot 2 birds with 1 stone. I assume PS4 and MAC uses openGL, no cookie dough for them tho..
But it is very unlikely to happen anytime soon, maybe when the game gets quite outdated, they might ramp up the engine a bit like LoTRO used to do to attract more people to a dying game.
    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

Dermont - v16 Pompous Altmer Sorcerer (With a very arrogant face!)
Egonieser - v16 Nord Stamina Dragonborn Wannabe
Endoly - v16 Tiny Redguard Sharpened MaceBlade
Egosalina - v16 Breton Cheesus Beam Specialist
Egowen - v16 Dunmer Whipping Expert (Riding crops eluded her)
(Yes, I had to grind all these to v16)
Akamanakh - lvl 22 Khajiit GankBlade (Inspired by Top Cat)
Targos Icewind - lvl 34 Imperial (Future) Jabplar
    (CP 830+)

I highly doubt MS will change XBone to use DX12. They'd have to retrofit every title already shipped to make it work and they're not about to do that. One of the selling points of consoles is that games can depend on a reliable, guaranteed platform for the lifetime of the device and not have to worry about it changing. Yes, some changes happen but they're small and have low-impact on the existing titles.

Rumors are going around that they have, and since DirectX is backwards compatible it shouldn't matter what older games were coded for.

DX12 will be coming to xbox one it's already been confirmed awhile back. There will be a very big update.

LOL, I've written against every DirectX implementation since DX3. "Backwards compatible" is a stretch in some cases. Though it may allow the older games to run it could result in their frame rates dropping dramatically or other problems. I don't know if that would be true for DX12 but maybe they've been planning for this for a while so it's possible.

If it's anything like the PC, they could simply update the XBox to have DirectX 12, and that would run DirectX 11 games just fine, no need to "retrofit" anything. Newer games would require an updated console, though. And I'm not sure the hardware would support all features in DirectX 12.

ESO is extreamly bound by cpu (particularly in large scale pvp). 64bit would not add much to performance as the big deal with 64bit is allowing the software to take advantage of more memory. Eso does not use that much in the way of RAM memory compared to some other games. I would rather see dx12 reduce the load on my cpu. Currently running an AMD 8350 OC'ed to 4.7 ghz and I always have one core maxing out while other 7 cores and gpu really just twiddle their thumbs!

Would be nice if a dev would comment : )

Direct x 12 is coming to xbox one, but there are conflicting reports if it will really change anything currently, its just part of the intergration of the xbox one stuff with the windows 10 stuff

But doubt direct x 12 will change much for most current or upcoming mmos really

Just my two crowns on the matter

I agree that xbox will see no improvement as games optimized for console already had low level access. Holding my breath for pc though!! Hoping it is not all Microsoft hype...
