Yes, there are players that do things like take nodes or chests while you are fighting mobs, but it's not the end of the world, and there is plenty for everyone.
If nodes are what you are after in the first place, just gather the ones that aren't near mobs.

LOL, most of the nodes in Craglorn, especially Upper Craglorn, are near mobs. And, no, this isn't a single player RPG but in PvE zones we shouldn't be worrying about PvP type player tactics. Heh, that's an idea! While the douchenozzle is stealing the Voidstone node I just fought for I should be able to attack and kill him. After all, it's not a single player game, right?

Must be a problem solely limited to you or Upper Craglorn then. I gather stacks upon stacks upon stacks of raw materials and open 50 to 100 chests when I gather in Lower Craglorn and I don't have to fight a single mob, or other players for said nodes and chests.

Well, now I know you're just trolling. 100 chests? In the open in Lower Craglorn? What do you do, spend all day farming? Getting a chest every 2 minutes would be 3 and half hours of wandering LC. And you expect me to believe you never once accidentally aggro a mob? Yeah, right.
Not really "yours", just the one you were standing next to/close to (and so was the other person).Chuggernaut wrote: »Well that's a different game change request all together. See if you can get forced duels added to the next Justice System Update, if a player "steals" your node lol.

I know exactly where every node and every chest is, or is going to be, on this route. I know how to harvest each node and open every chest with aggro'ing a single mob. 90% of the nodes and chests aren't anywhere near a mob. And yes, on days when I do farm Craglorn I do it for several hours and I've made millions from doing it.

Wow, I don't have your kind of time. I can play a couple of hours most days, maybe longer on weekends. I shouldn't have to have a perfectly laid out route for every last bit of resources the game will hork up just to gather materials for crafting writs and a thin to non-existent chance of getting a nirncrux. All to avoid other players acting like complete douchenozzles. I'll say "good job" because apparently playing ESO is your full time job.

As a VR7 Templar I can still clear the scrub mobs that dot the landscape without too much risk of dying. The problem is there was a VR14 following me around and harvesting the nodes while I was killing the mobs. My simple suggestion is make the nodes in the monsters aggro range belong to the player who starts combat with those monsters. If that player flees the area or dies and the monsters reset the node goes back to being unclaimed. When you finishing killing the monsters you can harvest the node. After some amount of time, like 90 seconds, the node will return to "available to all" status. There is no reason to support this kind of petty thievery in PvE zones -- leave that to the gankers and door squatting losers in Cyrodiil and the Imperial City.
