Why was there no answers to the "Ask us anything" thread

Yesterday you guys did not answer any questions from this ongoing thread during ESO live, nor did you the week before. I have always looked forward to the show because of the ask us anything part. The randomness was fun to watch and I enjoyed hearing the answers to random question. The time you guys took to answer questions was never that long and some time there was no serious questions answered but I really enjoyed bit. Now there is a back up of a months worth of questions. Will you guys ever address those? Can you consider closing the thread if you are not going to answer questions from it on the next show. That way people do not have to waist time writing in it and then hoping there question will be answered during the show? You could reopen the thread when you will answer questions during a show.

Eek, sorry for the delayed response, @BigMac_Smiley. Better late than never, right?

Sometimes it's hard to fit every segment into each episode, and with our big Imperial City Q&A livestream, we figured that was a great place to answer a whole bunch of questions from both the forums and Twitch chat. But the Ask Us Anything segment will definitely continue to be on future shows, and we'll keep answering your AUA questions from the forum thread on the show.

Because it is only there as a facade to make to make it appear like they(the devs etc), are interacting with the community by answering our questions on ESO Live, and also to give them a bit of content for their web show.

However, time and time again, it has been proven that they never answer the really tough questions that most players want answers to, but will only answer the really easy ones that have already been answered a million times by the community already.

All of the questions in this section should have been answered here on the forums by the Devs or the department leads for that section to which the question pertains to. I think they should be doing this on a weekly or even bi-weekly basis. Taking a bunch of questions and then giving them out to the correct people to answer and then posting those answers every week on the forums here. PS: The questions must be a mix of the hard technical ones and the easy ones. No free rides.

This would go a long way to helping their image in how they are interacting with the community.

They also have to stop with the Devs posting on Reddit. Reddit isn't even their official forums and it looks really, really bad when the Devs are posting information and answering questions over there. They shouldn't have to do that in order to get information out.

@ZOS_RichLambert Perhaps this is something you may want to look into and consider for a future change.

Agree with this 100% It feels like the Devs are more active on Reddit then there own site.

They have never answered much from that thread. It's called "ask us anything" which is technically true. They never said "we'll answer anything". o:)

I believe they did answer questions, they just didn't state the names of forum users this time. Kai & Gina did ask Eric and his friend (sorry forgot the name) several things and I am sure they were based on the forum. Important to note however is, they do focus on the DLC now, so that they probably didn't ask questions like "why is the sky pink".

Besides that, next week is the quake con panel, so if you have a question about IC, you should post it there and I am sure many questions will find their way to the show.

I asked a lot of things in the past and they always picked the questions up and they surely didn't do that just to make me happy :D
Say what you want, but they are definitely one of the better community teams out there and I have seen many in the past 15 years or so ;)

I agree. I asked a question a short while ago based on something that was a constant concern to a lot of people, and they picked it up and answered it.

If they've adopted a new approach of not giving the name of the player who asked the question then I have no problem with that, given that one of the more embarrassing aspects of the show is the awkward giggling whenever they try to pronounce an unpronounceable name.

I think the community team is great, it's just the development team who do a poor job in not posting here at all. I've no idea if they're the ones who are posting on Reddit as I have no wish to visit that particular board.

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

I never really saw a point of those anyway.
Questions picked never touched actual problems and issues game had. For ESO Live they usually chose questions like "Why are the boob windows gone from Orc armor?" while the post had tons of questions regarding real issues.
Obviously they also focus on roleplayers, because roleplayers create their own content, unlike those nasty veteran whiners that constantly wait for more stuff to do - duh! (sarcasm)

as others have said, ask them whatever you want, they wont reply

If you want a real laugh, go back and listen to the ESO Live where the first 30 minutes is dedicated to the art director talking about his love of drawing the rocks in the game, followed by the hypothetical 30 minute discussion of how it would take a year for them to implement underwater combat

Not to mention their "damage control" skills. After 30CP for vets was announced we had three weeks of forums boiling up to critical levels and ESO Live did not cover the issue. If you were here back then you know how hot this topic was.

How about "Advert Gate" when they used the "System Message" system to advertise Crown Store items :dizzy:

That got actually changed pretty darn quickly :D

On the whole, I've seen quite a few questions answered that are genuine questions, but most of it is Fluff. I also don't understand why there is 5-10 minutes of looking at peoples art work. I mean, what percentage of the population can actually draw something half decent?

Maybe they don't answer questions because of some reasons. Sometimes it is better to say nothing, than something that we want to hear and something that will settle an imaginary hope in us. I want to say that if they are not sure in some things, better to say nothing about it.

That's been consistent for months...they dont' answer everything but they do tend to answer a lot.

Are you seeking for a forum response or is this something that wasn't addressed on ESO Live for a couple of episodes?

This was a question from two weeks ago. They did not answer any questions from the Ask us anything thread in the last episode of ESO Live or the week before. They had been consistent for months up until the last two episodes. Granted the last episode was about imperial city and the one before that was about, i think, skill changes. In the past special episode had not stop them from still answering question, but the last two did. It just sucks to post questions in the forums in hopes of having them answered only to find out they did not address any of the questions. Mainly I just wanted them to close the thread for the week if they would not answer them, that way people would not waist there time and there would not be a back up of 6+ weeks of questions.
