Please add in game notifications when there are major updates/changes [Especially on console]

So over the last 2 days, consoles have been updated to include the psijic ambrosia patch. This is a great patch and brings some very interesting new features to the game.

However, there is absolutely no notification in game and no way for players to actually realise that there have been changes. I have not seen the Xbox version, however as they mirror eachother very closely I would believe that is the case there as it is on ps4.

On PC this could fly, as players are still shown information through the launcher.

However, there is no way for console players to find this information unless they frequent this forum or sites like Reddit.

I would wager that the majority of console players don't even know that there has been an xp potion added to the game. That they can now fish for ingredients, that potions scale to level and any other changes that may come in the future.

It would be nice to have a notification window pop-up automatically after a big patch or update to give some information to players about what's new.

Just a thought.

I completely agree. I read these forums sometimes at work and when I got home I forgot about the patch because my Xbox downloaded it while I was at work. Even though I read all the patch notes I didn't even remember it had happened until I looked at the stats of a potion I was making and saw that it was different from before.

It would be great if the notes were added at the startup of the game.

well before you "login" to the servers it does have a window showing what version it is, they could easily just add like a bolded whats new or visit the site for new details.

Do you actually read that? I know for myself, I just mash x until I'm in game. Unless there's a visible big "HEY LOOK HERE!" I won't notice.

While there is information in other places, it may help if Zenimax used the Game Hub on XBox one.
I'd imagine PS4 has a similar method made available to developers

While the suggestion has been made more than a few times for Xbox One, we've yet to see Zenimax adopt this method of communication.

I too hope to see more console opportunities to inform gamers vs directing gamers back to a PC website outside of the console.

On the PS4 home screen, Hover over ESO, scroll down to overview, scroll right to "welcome to tamriel" which is a link to the games website... I am certain anyone with a ps4 knows how to use the internet, so just browse till you reach forums and then click "patch notes"...
Granted some folks are in too much of a rush to figure out what the update was... Yesterday there was also a "patch notes" link on the overview portion of ESO on ps4 homepage as well... It has since been removed...

What I am getting at here, is that they already have a system in place to direct you to the patch notes... It also passively encourages players to if not contribute to the forums, to at least visit them...

PC players don't receive patch notes through the launcher either (at least not mine) just crown store adverts....do you really want that?
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

yes i read it once, i also know where to look for the patch number. while i also spam X to login. its not a instant load so there is plenty of time to see that number is no longer 1.04 and is indeed now 1.05 and you will be like :O i should go look at whats been changed.

    How about a warning like,

"You know that favorite skill that you use all the time, cause it's really effective and fun? Yeah, we #$%@&#$ trashed that. Don't forget there's new items in the Crown Store!!"

Honesty is the best policy. As far as you know. --Sheo

ya it doesn't tell you what's been changed on pc either... It says the version and gives you advertisements. You have to come to the site to get notes like a big boy/girl. :)

Again, you think people are really going to do that? Console players don't don't that. When i played destiny I would have to explain new content to 99% of people i played with including my friends every time there was an update because they had no clue as to what changed. Or that there even were changes.

Im not disagreeing with that part of it... if they dont check, then they probably dont really care... All I was saying is that there is already a system in place for those who do want to know what a patch/update consisted of...
