Console QOL Improvements?

Fizzmopper
Hi,
Let me start by saying I love this game (playing on PS4). That said, there are a lot of little things that could be done to improve the experience for console players. I didn't play it on PC, so I don't know what mods are out there or if some of these things already exist on PC version.

Hopefully some of these are planned or will make it into the console version some day...

Some suggestions:
- Show damage/healing/crit amounts either as text above your enemies heads, or on a meter we can toggle on/off (we get a dmg recap in death so it is calculated)
- Show health in numbers on characters
- Have a better way to distinguish friend from foe, i frequently accidentally attack NPCs thinking they are enemies.. (maybe due to my partial color blindness)
- When I am in a party show quests that my group members are also on
- Show current things being researched in my Character sheet and their time remaining (like the horse training)
- Don't put me into Area chat automatically! Why do I want to hear someone talking to another person / why do people want to hear me breathing and coughing or talking to myself until I realize I am on Area chat?
- Make gear more modifiable. Add sockets to it or something. Spice it up! Armor, one rune and one passive is a bit boring
- Better gear bonuses (I have another post about this won't go into it here)
- Add in a toggle for a distance to your quest target so you know if you are 100m or 10m away
- Mail system - show the number of items in a stack that is being sent
- Running - so annoying being a stamina based character and not being able to run in dungeons...Please do something about this
- Show when I am at a crafting station whether or not the gear I am going to deconstruct or improve is stored in my bank or in my stash. Same with crafting mats if possible.
- Etc.

Thanks for such a great game - looking forward to the DLC and future updates!

Good luck with that. ESO for consoles only came out about 2 months ago? PC players have been asking for these features for a year and half.
Can't find the items you are looking for? Need a place to trade? We welcome ESO players of all platforms at ESO Trade, the home for trading of goods and services in the lands of Tamriel.

Yes to toggleable floating numbers. No to DPS meters and in-depth combat logs.

But everything else seems nice! :) But I am somewhat confused by what you mean when you want to make gear more modifiable...and what you mean by the running bit.

They could easily do this if they added tect chat, they could just havea tab showing battle report like other MMORPGs

    - Show health in numbers on characters

could be done, the bars above all npc heads and characters are kinda thin to add in numbers. they could thicken the bars a bit to do this.

    - Have a better way to distinguish friend from foe, i frequently accidentally attack NPCs thinking they are enemies.. (maybe due to my partial color blindness)

idk what to say about this one, neutral npcs have a yellow bar and enemies have a red bar. i suppose they could add a star or skull next to thier hp bar

    - When I am in a party show quests that my group members are also on

they could do this by adding a # next to the quest showing how many in the group are on that quest

    - Show current things being researched in my Character sheet and their time remaining (like the horse training)

this is too much of a hassle, you can easily find this out by just visiting a crafting station.

    - Don't put me into Area chat automatically! Why do I want to hear someone talking to another person / why do people want to hear me breathing and coughing or talking to myself until I realize I am on Area chat?

this i agree with, but im assuming they do it because someone might forget they turned off voice chat and wont be able to hear people asking for group or what not, even tho all you ever hear is people being annoying lol

    - Make gear more modifiable. Add sockets to it or something. Spice it up! Armor, one rune and one passive is a bit boring

im sure they will do this later, they will need to for more content as the game grows.

    - Better gear bonuses (I have another post about this won't go into it here)

not sure you mean armor set bonus or skill passives ? :/

    - Add in a toggle for a distance to your quest target so you know if you are 100m or 10m away

they could do this easily just have it above the compass in a semi small print

    - Mail system - show the number of items in a stack that is being sent

you forget how much you said to send? lol just remove the items and reput them in the mail if you forgot.

    - Running - so annoying being a stamina based character and not being able to run in dungeons...Please do something about this

buy a horse, dont run inside delves/dungeons.

    - Show when I am at a crafting station whether or not the gear I am going to deconstruct or improve is stored in my bank or in my stash. Same with crafting mats if possible.

this i agree with. i stored some armor in my bank to trait train with and i almost deconstructed them by accident because i didnt know they would show in the crafting station

    - Etc.

    Etc

Thanks for such a great game - looking forward to the DLC and future updates!

Only one of those are "console" QOL issues.

Just. because. an. addon. exists. is. NOT. an. excuse. for. something. to. not. be. an. option. in. the. base. game.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

    Fair enough.

As for the mail system, I mean more so for being on the receiving end rather than the sending end. When a friend sends me leather it would be nice to see a little number to know if he sent me 1 or 200.

As for running - it consumes stamina, which is the same resource that melee characters use for attacks and tanks use for blocking. So it is very annoying in dungeons running from one set of monsters to the other only to find you have no resource to attack and you need to wait till it regens...
