Need Help With Khajiit DK.

I just started a Khajiit DK in the AD and am having some serious issues. Right now I'm only lvl 5. First off when ever I battle any enemies I almost die instantly, it seems that I am WAY underpowered and have no chance of survival what so ever. Did anyone else have this issue when they played that class? So far I've played a NB and Sorcerer and haven't had the low life and almost no survivability like I do with this toon. I'm using the basic skills you can get for the class right now since that's all I have available. Is there anything I should be doing to boost my chances or is it just a hard fight?

What weapon set & skills are you using? I have leveled 2 DK's up to VR rank and they were the 2 easiest paths. One was light armor/destro staff & the other medium armor stamina build 2H/DW.
Catches-the-Sun - Argonian Templar - Master Smith, Provisioner, Chemist & Tailor
Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief
    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster
Finnvardr the Frenzied - Werewolf Berzerker

I'm playing Khajiit DK. Started with sword & shield if I remember correctly. Took first skill from every class tree. Think in the beginning I was using puncture, spiked armor and stone fist. Once got searing strike and molten weapons I added those. Think you can get quite nicely forward with that start setup.

Later on at lvl 15 I took 2H as 2nd weapon.
Syntse Dominion Khajiit Dragonknight Stamina Tank [50]
Ra'Syntse Dominion Khajiit Nightblade Magica DPS [50]
Syntselle Dominion Dark Elf Dragonknight Magica DPS [50]
Syntseus Dominion Imperial Templar Healer [50]
Syntsetar Dominion High Elf Sorcerer Magica DPS [50]
Friar Tuktuk Daggerfall Brenton Templar Healer [50]
Syntseyn Ebonheart Brenton Nightblade Magica DPS [50]

Did you go to the starter zones? Are the mobs your level? As a V12 DK I dont recall any troubles in the beginning. I started out 2hander and mix matched armor. I use to fiery grip them in, stone fist them down, and proceed to cleave them to death. Put on spiked armor if necessary.

I've been using whatever I found for armor so far. I think one or two green from early quest and that's about it. Started with two handed weapons but am going to switch to sword and board I think to help a little fopr now. I'm using the fiery grip, stone fist and just got molten weapons.

Khajiit get health recovery in battle, so it does get easier, but nothing is easy from the start. Spiked armor, stonefist, critical charge and the earthen heart ultimate is what got me through (but definately uppercut when available and obsidion shield). I played with a 2handed battleaxe which, when combined with the khajiit crit increase, can leave you with a splitting headache.
I used to just critical charge in, then backtrack slightly, activate spiked armor stonefist the guy you want to damage and after a big swing with your 2handed they should be near death

DK is not a hard class to play through the solo quests with.

But you are only level 5, did you go to the starter island? (For AD that is Kenarthi's Roost) There is not even any real serious combat there and that should bring you to level 7 or 8, by which time you will have some more skillpoints and attribute points.

Can you reach level 5? It always used to be the case that when you hit level 4 you stopped getting XP from combat in the Wailing Prison.

I got my DK to Vet rank by slamming my head down on the keyboard and getting some shut-eye.

Seriously though, hold block, hit each enemy with Searing Strike, loot. You can also equip a Resto staff until you get Green Dragon Blood or Obsidian Shield. Just cast Regeneration on yourself before you head into a fight.

Hold block won't work when you get the IC update. No more stam regen so you'll soon run out of stam if you just hold that block button down.

you need that first hit critical and with a shield and sword your not going to get much out of it.

You might be attempting content that isn't suited for you just yet. Did you happen to complete everything on the starter island? Do you see a quest in your journal that mentions anything about "talk to a boatswain"? If so, then you haven't gone to your respective island.
