They can only bite someone once every 7 days and people are obviously willing to pay because they are too lazy to wait for the spawn to get it for free. The price will come down on its own and imho what the OP did was pretty shabby. I don't understand why some people feel they have to police the actions of others for a non-forced sale.

Yes, but you can bite whomever you want, once per 7 days, for whatever reason. They're not even under any obligation to actually follow up and become a vampire or werewolf, they can just let the timer run out if they want.

If 40k is a reasonable price for a bite in your mind, then you're free to charge that to someone else... unless you thought you were pulling one over on someone...

Funny thing is its the buyer who actually sets the price by not paying, which is why the prices always come down for everything in the game. Supply and demand always works itself out.

i have those tendencies for sure. nothing pisses me off more than greed. and feeding off of the younger kids who dont know any better. all that for little pixels of yellow. like really just give it for free why sell it? worse yet, why sell it for twice the amount to a little kid who knows jack? that's the issue.

are bites still being paid for on PC ?

if so I will starting logging in my PC toons just for free bites ... (now playing my transferred toons on PS4)
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Funny thing... I actually do sell bites. :p

I also give them away. It kinda depends on context. That said, before 1.5, I also used to council lowbies out of getting bitten. So... eh, I'm weird.

i mean anyone i have played with knows how and where to get free bites. but if your trying to make a cheap deal you better be prepared to have something happen to your bum. no one appreciates a jerk

It really does. There's a fairly substantial population of both bats and wolves on PC, so the bites tend to go for roughly 3-5k. Back at launch it was in the 40k range, which... I didn't have any back then, I took my time climbing the ranks originally, but that just sounded insane, even at the time.

Now, with the consoles? I don't know their economies, but they sound completely derped up at the moment.

Man, I remember when, at the going rate for werewolf bites, I could also still throw in a green set of gear and blue food for the player running it, provide support, and still make more than I would for just derping around. I got a lot of people through at 16-20, back before 1.5 changed the werewolf instance so it scaled down to 12. Back when you were throwing level 16 players against level 40 enemies? That was rough. Really rewarding, but rough.

Now, the wolf instance is pretty easy. If someone's having trouble, I've still got a ridiculous cache of blue food I can throw at them to help. And I do still talk people through it, if it's their first wolf.

Actually, it's part of why I don't sell vampire bites. I don't remember the content well enough to talk someone through it if they're having difficulty.

The guys who just take the cash, bite, and run... I mean, really, that's not fair to someone who only knows, "oh, yeah, werewolves are supposed to be awso...ohgodmyfaceitseatingmyfacewowwhydidthishappentome!?"

Its fairly obvious you assume anyone who defends the selling of bites must in fact be bite sellers.Sorry but your wrong on so many things. So do you give all your items for free to anyone who asks? Did you give all your gold to some one who needs it more then you? Didn't think so, i guess that makes you a griefer since you take pleasure in disrupting others gameplay. Good luck with that.

But i actually do, i sold one daedric motif around three weeks after launch. After that i really have had no care. If someone comes to me needed gear or for me take make something, they give me that mats they have and ill scrounge up the rest to make it. Playing a game with no sense of greed is actually pretty relieving. Maybe you should try it. I hoard and buy certain things, but other than that, nah not a hint of greed. I dont charge someone stupid amounts for a bite simply because they dont know better. Whats our word for..."being a knob who takes advantage of noobs"? Shall we make one?

The thing i think your not realizing is regardless of price down the road or even at time of sale someone will consider it too high. That daedric motif you sold is a good example. Those are very expensive still, even now on PC so even if you think you gave someone a good deal at the time i guarantee someone else would say you ripped them off. Your assuming anyone who sells a bite is ripping off noobs but yet as the other poster pointed out, he also gave them gear and food and walked them through the quest to make sure they succeeded. Why is that such a bad thing if both parties get what they wanted? Who are you to decide what is good for them? No one ever will be forced to pay for a bite. Let them decide if its worth it or not, and that's exactly how the whole market works. No buyers=No sales which is why prices come down.
Why do you feel anyone who sells things is operating on greed? There are many very expensive things built into the game,Bank space/Horses etc etc. so how are people expected to pay for those things without ingame money? Should they just do quests and wait a crazy long time or should they engage in the marketplace? If anyone lists items for too much they dont sell, so they lower the price. This is all economics 101 so please keep social justice out of it.

Yes, i understand that all...in the real world...where miney buys food and life. But pixel money? LOL if i can rip a guy off who is ripping off a nub the i will do so. The kid was suspicious but was about to pay anyways.

Heres a fair conclusion, you guys keep charging silly prices that are above average (anyone can check a price on the webs) and I WILL keep playing how i like. That would be saving noobies rom getting ripped off and apparently making alot of people happy. Moral compass wins on a video game bub. I cant practice it fully irl so [snip] i will in any rpg i play. Like i said, pc/ps4 na ep, lemme know when your about to rip some little noobie off and ill come poo on you too, and get on the mic and let everyone know they can find free bites on the forums. You play with your money focus, ill play with my moral focus, yeah?

this i like! on console i had a guy curse me out for selling a bunch of items he was selling for half the price or in this case normal/reasonable prices. called every name in the book because i was selling daedra hearts for 3k and he was inflating them like balloons at the fair for 7k and he wanted 1k a honing stone i was doing 250g each.

I get this all the time.

I was selling daedra hearts for 1k and dreugh wax for 5k in daggerfall the other day. Some guy was telling me to stop because I was "ruining the prices for proper traders"

Good. The daedra hearts are ten a plenty in cadwell's gold. These guy are selling 3 for 10k. Really?? Dreugh wax he was selling for 11k.

I often go back and see if he's selling stuff. I'll jack his trade and tell his buyer I'll sell it for half the price lol.

Prices need bringing right down on console.

I'm after tempering alloys and nobody sells them for less than 10k. Ridiculous.

At least me and my guild are among those who are selling hearts for a way fairer price. Hopefully that will plummer

Kinda reminds me of the people in zone chat that feel obligated to post MM prices for anything that someone else tries to sell in chat if they think it's overpriced. I guess they think they are the price police. :D I can see these sad people standing in Best Buy yelling at people that want to buy a monster cable or some other accessory that is overpriced. I saw one guy in Reaper's March one day that would post MM prices every single time this other guy would broadcast a WTS message. I guess he didn't have anything better to do than troll that guy trying to sell stuff. :/
