CHARACTER NAMES. Where the heck are they.

I play on Xbox One, and I'm not sure if PS4 is the same, but is there anyway to see the character names, and then the gamertag underneath or only in Roster. I craft something and it uses my Character Name, but then no one knows who that is because they scroll over me and only see my GT. No sense in letting us name our characters if no one can see them outside of crafted items.

I think an option you could add would be like the Helm Hide, but make it Hide Gamertag, so that it either showed the character name when toggled on, or show the players Gamertag when toggled off. This would give everyone the option to see character names, and then if they wanted to know the gamertag of the person, they could quickly toggle that.

I think this would be a HUGE QOL benefit.

Looking for more, honest ones.
Wolves of Wraitwinter also in GW2, Neverwinter, and Destiny.

They take out every feature that is useful to people in the name of immersion and leave in the one thing that wrecks it the most. Who doesnt enjoy running round tamriel with xxxIPWNZNOOBSONCODZxxx
You give me a chat box ZOS and I'll start giving you my money again.

Honestly I'd like to be able to see character names. I'm pretty picky about characters and went through the process of creating and deleting about 9-10 characters before I got 4 I actually liked the look of in game. Anyhow sometimes finding a name that wasn't already used was a lengthy endeavor. Since I had to spend so long on the name I'd like them visible personally.

However Perhaps the decision to go with gamer id was about being able to more easily contact people, I don't know.

Yeah, and that is why I think you should either be able to toggle it, or have it appear below the name, just like your PvP title. I didn't name my characters so that their names showed up on a dagger and left everyone wondering "Who the hell is that." I know a lot of people I've come across have said the same things. We need character names to show up, at least as an option.

    ZOS dont do options.

They do bury their heads in the sand very efficiently however.

I - and surely most people - have put a bit of thought into their character names, and would like them to have a larger presence in the game, most obviously being placed where you currently see a person's GT.

Is there a way we can make this like an official petition, spam some ZOS in-boxes with signatures?

Same on ps4 and it is frankly very annoying!
I also spen a lot of time on naming my character, as lore friendly as possible and for what?
To see it on an armour set I use myself ( not being able to craft gear that people actually want yet )!
Nothing worse than only knowing someone as xXpwnking24Xx or such names!

I also put alot of time and effort into creating my charaters names. It is very disappointing to see that your charater name almost means nothing. Since the only place anyone sees it is on crafted items/equipment that I create. I would love to have some kind of option mentioned above to see charater names.

It's very goofy on consoles and I'm confident they will change it in the future.

I want my character name to be displayed as well. It's fine if it's account name in Guild/friendslist, just like on PC, but otherwise I want to see peoples' character names.

Some quests use your character name,

Also blacksmithing names an item after the character name.

What kind of character names do you use?
    Silly or lore friendly?

I am the same way! I spent about the first week of console trying to make my characters looks. I did however get my names saved first thing right off the bat. I have used the same names since the days of EQ/AC!
But some people have stolen them in a few games. Rift was one of them

    Warlock Holmes for my casters
    Funkopotamus For my tanks.

And yes it is a shame we cannot show character names.
Anything useful that players are wanting added into the game all fall under the category of "Yer ruinin my 'mersion!" Sallington

My buddy josh and I want this greatly, it takes away from the game to see only the gamertag. it doesn't ruin the experience but it would significantly build upon it with character names being shown instead of gamertags
