I understand the Complaints...

Oh My God... Well, it's been a decent amount of time since my friends and I got ESO. By now, we should have covered the vast array of game material. If not, it's not our fault. Sliding into a game's content should be slick and satisfying as honey on a banana. If we haven't reached certain material by now, then we encountered road blocks, which are never good in any type of game.

Overall, we came to the conclusion that the Elder Scrolls Series is best as a single player game like it has been. That is obvious. As an MMO? Comparatively, it's like Bioware's attempt at a multiplayer section in Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's *** at first, but has potential to be great. Unlike Dragon Age's multiplayer, Bethesda does not have an opportunity to "scratch off and start again" with ESO, and my friends and I fear that new editions and DLC will be like adding gilded walls to an already weak foundation. Honestly, we expected better from an $80 game and we didn't have high expectations going in. We have also found that the game appeals to a very narrow group of gamers. Those who enjoy MMOs, those who enjoy the Elder Scrolls, and fans who are willing to overlook the problem areas.

I kinda already knew this game wasn't for me, but I felt compelled to get it anyway because of Bethesda's strong reputation on quality game development and gamer treatment. I figured I'd give ESO a shot because of that. I'll more than likely give Elder Scrolls: Legends a shot also. I've never been disappointed by Bethesda until now, which is ok. They can't please everybody. Bethesda can move from this with hardly any dirt on its cloak. Zenimax on the other hand... I'm afraid skepticism will be at their heels for a while.

This is not a Bethesda game .. and it shows
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Bethesda didn't develop this game it was developed by Zenimax Online studios. Bethesda has ben working on Fallout 4 ever since they finished Skyrim.

don't get mad at my spelling, autocorrect doesn't cover fantasy.
Why couldn't the Khajiit go to the party? She had to be Elsweyr.

I imagine that they would multi task with one segment working on Skyrim and another working on Fallout 4 (doing story boarding and such). But the reason Skyrim was declared done in 2013 was so everyone at Bethesda could go to work on the same project.

Yeah. For one, it has far, far less bugs. XD

I love Bethesda and all, don't get me wrong. Future Shock was ridiculously good (and one of the first with vehicle combat), but impossibly buggy. Daggerfall and Arena both shipped with bugs preventing players from completing the game. Fallout 3 PC had so many instant crash/freeze bugs that it was nightmarish. But the games were all so good everyone plowed through them.

Bethesda pushes the boundaries of gaming, but unfortunately leaves a wake of bugs in their pathfinding trails. ZOS has fixed a vast majority of what was wrong in ESO. Still not perfect, but they've done better than some other companies whose games I've played (and worked for).
