Oh My God... Well, it's been a decent amount of time since my friends and I got ESO. By now, we should have covered the vast array of game material. If not, it's not our fault. Sliding into a game's content should be slick and satisfying as honey on a banana. If we haven't reached certain material by now, then we encountered road blocks, which are never good in any type of game.
Overall, we came to the conclusion that the Elder Scrolls Series is best as a single player game like it has been. That is obvious. As an MMO? Comparatively, it's like Bioware's attempt at a multiplayer section in Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's *** at first, but has potential to be great. Unlike Dragon Age's multiplayer, Bethesda does not have an opportunity to "scratch off and start again" with ESO, and my friends and I fear that new editions and DLC will be like adding gilded walls to an already weak foundation. Honestly, we expected better from an $80 game and we didn't have high expectations going in. We have also found that the game appeals to a very narrow group of gamers. Those who enjoy MMOs, those who enjoy the Elder Scrolls, and fans who are willing to overlook the problem areas.
I kinda already knew this game wasn't for me, but I felt compelled to get it anyway because of Bethesda's strong reputation on quality game development and gamer treatment. I figured I'd give ESO a shot because of that. I'll more than likely give Elder Scrolls: Legends a shot also. I've never been disappointed by Bethesda until now, which is ok. They can't please everybody. Bethesda can move from this with hardly any dirt on its cloak. Zenimax on the other hand... I'm afraid skepticism will be at their heels for a while.
